Boarding barns

Resolved

Good things to say about all of them.

Sulu typically goes to Ocala for the winter. My sense is that she is more jumper focused with a fair amount of sales, but also has a daughter in the BigEq.
Jan and Eric typically stay home and show locally (e.g., Barracks). My sense is that they are more hunter focused, including some ponies (my daughter showed a pony for them).
Feel like Ashley stays home too and has a good mix of clients.

Can’t really say what any of their barns are like as my interactions with them have been almost always on the showgrounds.

Those are all great options. Ashley is quite a bit west of CVille though.

I work for Sulu and Derek, shoot me a message if you have any specific questions I can help you with. We have a good mix of hunters, jumpers, and eq riders. For example, at Culpeper in July, we had riders in every jumper division from .65 to Children’s/Adults, to Junior/Amateurs, as well as pony, children, Junior, and adult hunters, with several Big Eq riders thrown in as well.

As stated before, Ashley is in Waynesboro, which is over Afton Mountain, and closer to Lexington than to Central Virginia.

Eric is retired from riding now and Katherine Schmidt is riding for Hampden Row. She is a talented young professional who is really quite good. HR does both hunters and jumpers very successfully and is well regarded on the A show circuit. Also, their barn is goooorgeous!

Ashley does not have an indoor. Another one to mention is Jocelyn Martin. She is west of Richmond but not as far as Charlottesville. Not sure about the indoor.
