I am looking for a hunter/jumper barn in southern/central New Jersey. Indoor, outdoor, safe turnout and excellent care is a must! Trails would be amazing too. I’m located close to the 195 and the parkway, and am willing to travel up to an hour. Colts Neck or even Middletown would be ideal. Price range is around $1,400.00. Good trainer is a plus but I can live without. Help please…
I’m pretty South Jersey, maybe too far South for what you want. I’m at Ev-Ry farm and very very happy. I can also speak highly of Glen Eayre though they don’t have an indoor. Woodedge is another place I can recommend although I never know what the boarding status is exactly and I heard if was for sale
There are some other places in the area, but they’re all super south (Philly suburb area) and I think you really want central NJ?
You’re close to Stargate Farm. They’re located across the street from the Horse Park of NJ. Dawn Edwards is based out of there now with her Equest Show Stables. I met her a few years ago at another farm and loved working with her, but of course you don’t have to train with her.
I can’t personally speak of the care as I don’t have experience with them, but I’ve known multiple people who boarded there and were very happy with the care and facility.
Sandstone stables in colts neck, NJ. Website: http://www.sandstonestablesnj.com
I can personally attest to excellent care. Indoor is spacious (75x200), outdoor has recently redone footing, there is a 1/4 mile exercise track, access to trails, and more. Sandy Styzle and Kim Guessford are fantastic trainers, honest people, and always put the animals first… Not always easy to find people like that in the horse world!
Kim also teaches and rides at Golden Gait Farm in Millstone, another beautiful facility with quality care and great people.
Love Ey-Ry Farm, Shelly is wonderful, great trainer and really know her stuff, I don’t board there. I know her and her daughter personally. Really a great place
I would avoid Stargate, lots of very positive things about it but you need to know you’re way around the Central Jersey horse chic’s
Thank you everyone for the great suggestions, please keep them coming!
Mary Babick’s Knightsbridge Farm is right in Middletown. It’s a beautiful farm and she has a great reputation. Don’t know what the board is, but I would imagine it’s within your budget.
