Boarding/Hunter trainer in Boca Raton, FL

I’ll be in Boca for the winter (Oct/Nov to Apr) and I’d like to find a nice boarding situation where I can ride before or after work. Can be a small private farm or large boarding stable. I have one Hunter mare I’ll be taking down to FL. I jump quite often on my own but would be interested in a Hunter trainer for possible lessons and would go to local shows. Not WEF. I have a trainer who goes to HITS Ocala so would ship there if I want to do some AA shows. Suggestions?

Also following. Only because I am more familiar with Wellington and North, and am moving further South next year for school. Would love to know any good hunter trainers and boarding places down south.

Sunshine Meadows is technically in Delray, but is just north of Clint Moore Rd. It’s a huge facility, I think 175 acres, with 20 something different barns and trainers. Just be careful and make sure to really look into the trainers there before you decide to go with one, as there are more than a few “backyard yahoos” there (Libby416, you know who I’m talking about ). But the facility is actually quite lovely and the variety of trainers is really huge - you have some that don’t show at all, some go to WEF, some just do the local circuit shows at the WEF grounds…etc. It’s a nice place, if you’re with the right trainer/barn.

Ditto on Sunshine Meadows

Another recommendation for Sunshine Meadows and I’ll recommend John Beebe with Arlington Farm for boarding. As stated there are lots of training options on property, some require you to train with them if you board with them.

Thanks all I will check out Sunshine Meadows. Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions for a smaller boarding facility or private farms that might take a boarder? I’m not opposed to the large sprawling facility but it would be nice to have options.

 Oh hey I know you!!

Yea I was hoping to find something smaller. I think the busy atmosphere of Sunshine Meadows would fry Libs brain. Especially with all the trotters!!

Hahaha! Yeah, it definitely might. There are some decent places (private barns) in Parkland that might be better for you and Libby. I told the OP that when I first moved here I rode at a place in Parkland called St. Thomas Equestrian Center. Really nice barn, stalls with walkouts, 2 rings. Mostly dressage focused, but they have some jumps in their front ring. The owner is a little cuckoo, but not in a destructive or dangerous way, just…well, a little cuckoo. Acts 2 Acres is right at the end of the same street, too.

Is he in that Equus Equestrian Center? That’s so close to my house, I’ve always wanted to go check it out, but I always thought it was private for people with homes in that development!

Lots of people from Delray Equestrian moved there, as did a few other people I know…so no, not private, but GORGEOUS from what I have seen!

Really?? I seriously always thought that was a private facility for the residents there. Interesting. Too bad I can’t afford to ride in south Florida.
