Boarding on trails in Raleigh, NC

Hi all! My husband and I are relocating to Raleigh in August for his new job at NC State. We have 3 horses, a dog and no children living at home:) Hubby would like to live close to campus and board the horses. I’m used to having them in the back yard so…don’t know how we’re going to work this out. Anyway, I’m not looking for a fancy full board facility. My first priority is off property trail riding so that I can ride without having to hook up. Nice people to ride with is always welcomed. All this and it needs to be within a 30 minute commute to CNSU. Land for lease, pasture board with a run-in or stalls and good turn out, or house on horse property will all be considered. Any help or recommendations will be much appreciated. Especially if you can at least point me in the right direction (geographically) to a horse area with trails that is within a 30 minute commute to Raleigh.

I think the best place to find what you are looking for is craigslist. That is how I found the horse I leased in Durham, NC and he was boarded at a small private stable which is exactly what you describe. Unfortunately I know she does not have space for 3 extras right now otherwise I’d pass her name along!

There are quite a few COTHers in that area but you’d probably get more traffic on this post in OffCourse.

we trail ride

hi difow, we r located ~ 25 minutes from NCSU and trail/endurance ride and do some boarding. Would luv trail riding buddies!!
