Boarding options in Summit County, CO?

This spring/summer, my family is moving to Summit County, Colorado. The location is flexible.

Any suggestions for boarding? I own a Quarter Horse and we mainly trail ride. I don’t own a trailer so I’d like to be able to ride to trails or riding paths.

I’d prefer full board with stall and daily turnout. A small boarding barn or private farm would be great. I’ve been taking care of my horse at a self-care barn for several years and would be willing to help with chores when I’m in town. I’m mid-40’s and reliable. I wouldn’t be able to do chores every day as a travel out-of-state for business.

Any advice?

Try the Ruby Ranch…It’s on the north side of I-70…a McMansion community (gated) with a barn and lots of pastures (unless they have become houses). Mine
was on field board and Mr. Hot House horse thrived. Lots of roads to ride in the
development. It was very reasonable, like $50 a month but it was 25 years ago.
They had several trainers who came in to do lessons. They did have stall board
available also.

I was also mid-forties at the time. Was only there for one summer but if I had
to do the winter up there, would have probably looked for a place with an indoor
which it didn’t, at least at that time.
