Holland Equestrian in Mendon, NY is fantastic and its heated! They have a website and a facebook page.
What exactly are you looking for? Leg Up Stables in Geneseo has an amazing trainer who specializes in training young horses and retraining horses that have picked up some naughty habits along the way. She’s really good at giving owners the tools to be successful on their own mounts.
It’s run by Kim Sanford who is the barn owner and head trainer, and she has a really good barn manager/asst trainer who does the pro rides. Kim is awesome and has a ton of experience as well as vet tech experience.
Their site is LegUpStables.org
You’re asking a pretty open ended question. Are you looking for lessons? Do you need a pro to ride your horse? What part of Roch are you moving too? Do you want to horse show or trail ride?

Yes, looking for lessons. Yes, will need the ability to have someone else school my horse but just as a tune up for jumping or while I am away. Temporarily in Pittsford so willing to go east or north/south, although Geneseo seems far. I’d like to stay in county, or close to. Would like to do some showing. Trail riding is nice but not necessary. Indoor arena is necessary lol.
Has everything you are looking for…

Hi SpicyMonarch,
As a young professional in the equine industry, you might want to refrain from making gossip-y type posts about another’s business when I happen to know you have never personally been a client or kept a horse at Leg Up.
Also, didn’t you comment on another thread about Upstate NY earlier this year saying that you were “only familiar with the Syracuse horse scene”?

Bumping this thread as I am moving to Rochester/Victor area in September. Currently at a H/J barn but as I am older, I am happy doing good flat work and small jumps. Looking for excellent horse care, good footing, and good training as my horse is still a bit green and will need training rides also. An indoor goes without saying (although I said it…)
Thanks!
