I think the SS thread on HJ is one of the best long threads in years. Recently got a bit , predictably, hijacked, but ongoing informative
It was interesting how she came on the thread in the HJ forum to try and discuss the McDonald case, and push an agenda⊠but avoided this thread over here in the dressage forum.
isnt she banned from the D forum? I flagged one of her posts there as trying to hijack and push her own agenda
Can posters be banned from specific COTH forums?
Yeah that out of left field comment⊠oh boy.
Statement sure doesnât make them look good imo
Anywayssssss
It is kind of sad that the SS thread has gone on for so long, because we keep getting more and more people being outed. I mean itâs good theyâre getting what they deserve finally but itâs sad how rampant this is.
I bet BOBBIE are reading these threads
indeed, which makes it all the more important to keep the spotlight on. I know people in my sport scoff at SS and the requirements and I tell them about some of the horrors I have heard of in equestrian. You just have to keep it aware and hope that our young ladies and gentlemen these days have more knowledge so they can stand up and defend themselves.
we saw , ourselves, recent thread about a young lady who was taken in by a trainer it took a lot of bravery on her part to ask for help. She expressed the same self guilt that is often heard about in these matters. It sounds like she got help , got out and has moved on to much better things.
one young person at a time
That was a distasteful statement the McDonaldâs made, IMO. Even if the accusations were to be false, a more tasteful and professional statement couldâve been made. Which leads me to believe they are neither tasteful or professional
I could be wrong, but weâll see.
The comments on the dressage news post of this on Facebook are a good time.
The FB comments on the Chronicleâs article are more of the same old mindset. People bemoaning the loss of a well liked person, who successfully served in this role for USEF. But not two $hits given by many of these folks about who the people making the allegations are, what happened to them as teenagers, etc etc. Lots of âinnocent until proven guiltyâ comments.
Bottom line, her contract had expired, and was up for renewal. Her husband is up to his neck in a SafeSport complaint, and both have just been named in a civil suit. It would make exactly ZERO sense for USEF to go ahead and renew Debbieâs contract now with all that going on. Thatâs reality.
Itâs rather disgusting people care more about someone being a dressage coach than they do the children who were raped. Hard to understand.
As I said on the other thread, I would consider her signing onto that repulsive message attacking the Jane Does for using pseudonyms to be an SS violation in and of itself. SS Code allows for pseudonyms. SS Code prohibits going after Claimants. With her endorsement of that message, Debby has done both.
Bye, Debby. You actively did that bit all on your own.
You are on point with this @FitzE . I didnât even think about it, but yeah, their most recent public statement was out of line with SafeSport code.
Yep, that should shut down any Debby apologists. Maybe what they say is right, she shouldnât be involved. But, she went out of her way to violate SS Code so - end scene. And all voluntarily and by her own hand. Unforced error of the year, which means she really believes in what she just did which makes it even more digusting.
