Bob Champion, 30 years after Aintree

From the Observer:

Bob Champion, the National treasure who keeps on running

Huge thanks for that article, Jer!

Champions is one of the best equine movies ever & it’s now on
DVD.

Watching the opening scenes with the real Aldaniti galloping along is
priceless & I’m tearing up just thinking about it!

Great news to hear Bob Champion is still hale & hearty, he was named well!

I have a signed first edition of his book.

My horses have Rag Trade’s damsire (Cagire) in their pedigrees.

i have both his book and movie about his life. what a great story of both the horse and jockey!!

Wonderful story and I HIGHLY recommend the movie. It was well-treated by Hollywood (of course, there is no possible way to make the real story any better/more unbelievable than it already is).

I had no idea the odds were so bad and that 1981 treatment was so primitive. Incredible he made it.
