He’s not a dressage horse nor dressage bred, but most definitely a jumper stallion and will sire jumper foals. I suppose if paired with the right mare, he would also produce hunter.
You may have heard dressage breeders discussing him because there are certain types of jumper stallions who have decent enough gaits who are used in dressage breeding to improve the hindquarter usage and power. Every great pedigree contains jumper blood - just look at Weltmeyer and Sandro Hit.
He also has very exceptional temperament, being rather sweet, as are most of Balou du Rouet’s offspring.
