I have a really nice light tan saddle that I can’t really find that much info on. I’ve had it for quite awhile and love it. It’s light leather, rawhide wrapped cantle roll, rawhide edging and wrap at the front under the swell and rawhide around the horn edge. It is hand tooled in a very nice flower pattern. It has the metal BA insignia on the latigo holder and says designed by Ben Veach. the fenders and skirts are lined with latigo leather, which I have never seen in a saddle before. I imagine it’s about 30 years old. Can anyone tell me more? I can post a picture later. Thanks.
Gosh my memory is foggy on this. But I don’t think Benny Veach did work for Bona Allen until the horse company in Olney Il (may have been Foxcraft???) bought the name Bona Allen. I believe this was in the late 80’s early 90’s. But I could be wrong. I was working at a large western store at that time and I think that was the scuttlebut…
It was Foxwood and I found a post in 2007 also thinking that Benny didn’t work for Bona Allen untli Foxwood bought the name.
I also found that Foxwood moved to Olney in 1990.
I am pretty sure they are no longer in business.
