Boogaloo Boots

I checked previous threads on here but didn’t see anything super recent.

I’ve stumbled across the Boogaloo boots and am very intrigued. I’m looking for feedback on them - good and bad - from any users. How does the sizing work? I’m a bit concerned with the ‘one size’ deal. My guy has shorter cannons with good bone, so boots can be a bit tricky. Thanks in advance for the help

Boogaloos I feel were the big boot many many years ago. They had so many colours and everyone had them.

Now I probably wouldn’t use them as they are neoprene and don’t breathe very well. We used to use them for everything from flat work to cross country.

They are well made boots, just not the best boots with all the new ones out there that have better air flow to them. They would be find for lower levels.

As for sizing, I never even noticed they were ‘one size fits all’, we used them on our little 15.3 quarter horse, fit her fine, not too big.

I should clarify a bit. We will be going Novice this year. I want something a step up from the Woof Club boots I’ve been using. I’ve been happy with them, but would like something that offers a little be more protection without going overboard. I don’t like a lot of the hard shelled boots that I’ve come across, so was looking for something that was slightly better protection than the Woofs.

He’s 16’3, so the fact that the boots would fit both a 15HH horse and a 17HH horse confuse me slightly. I have had trouble in the past with boots that are wide enough circumference wise end up being too tall.

Thanks for the info Lady B!

I use Boogaloos up to Training level and for everyday schooling - I LOVE these boots. Superb protection and easy to care for. I don’t find they hold heat at the lower levels and they don’t hold water or slip. They come in regular or xl sizes. If your horse is bigger go for the large size. I can’t say enough great things about them and with the Canadian dollar right now you are sure to get a banging deal.

I had Boogaloos years ago. I loved them. For some weird reason my horse’s legs had a weird reaction to the neoprene. I would have also preferred to have double locking velcro straps as well.

All my horses wear “Boogy” Boots. Last forever, stay on well in water and mud. Clean up easy. Great price! as mentioned above for our American friends.

I loved my boogaloos and have no idea why I switched to another boot brand.

I found the leather ones hold up way better than the cordura ones and washed up better. I bought both types accidentally and my guy tore holes through the cordura pairs on his back legs through regular riding. The leather ones lasted way longer.

I love both sets of Boogaloos I have!! One set horse and the other was pony. Fit very well and never had issues. For the value, they are a good boot. The other ones out there are much pricier - and with a budget I can’t afford them.
The leather ones were a bit more than the cordura, which long term would be a better idea but at the time i opted for the cordura.

Thank you so much everyone for your feedback! This was the exact type of information I was looking for.
