Boot cut winter riding pants?

I want some! I love my Kerritt’s Boot Leg riding pants but need some warm ones for winter.

Does anyone make them?

bump this for me on the weekend. I have the Most Fabulous pair of dressage patch jods in an amazing polarfleeceinside-thicknylonoutside that seem to be windproof, water resistant, and are very warm. They are boot cut. I hate boot cut. BUT… they were affordable, and made by a wonderful lady on Ebay. I can find her email for you.

I HATE boot cut. :sigh: I want to find someone to take in the ankles for me

I have these…

They’re more like “over pants” but they have zippers up the legs so you can unzip them a bit and make them “boot cut”

I love them b/c if you get too warm you just pull them off and they also keep other pants clean and keep you warm during winter chores.

Smooth Stride

I got a pair of the Trial Rider Ultra Windpro Fleece and they were awesome. I wore them when it was in the 20’s, sometimes on really cold days I’d put some leggings on underneath but that was rare. http://www.smoothstride.com/ On sale now for $79!

I have the Irideon windpro bootcut pants, and absolutely love them. Warm, flattering, and comfortable.

Another vote for Smooth Stride’s Trail Rider breeches. I have three – they’re all I ride in.

Equissentials - the winter weight fabric is very warm, as well as being windproof and almost completely waterproof, and they’ll make breeches, tights or jods in any style you fancy, in your size, in next to no time, for the same price as regular retail:

don’t they ride up as you post?

i love the look but i always wondered how those pants stay put?
do you put half chaps over them to keep them in place?

I ride in half chaps usually, when I wear the boot cut breeches. Not my tight leather half chaps – I bought a pair of looser suede, half chaps (these: http://www.sportack.com/cms/index.cfm/path/94789/96913/96317/96318/96920/96586/ ).

Okay here’s my pathetic excuse, no I don’t ride in half chaps or tall boots just paddock boots. I’m fluffy and have wide calves so buying either would be expensive and frustrating. My bootcut breeches have never ridden up my legs. I trot, canter, jump in them. One pair has elastic sewn on the inside of the pant and goes under your foot inside your shoe. The other pair has nothing but that has not been a problem. My biggest beef with some of the boot cut breeches is that the patch often does not go far enough down your leg. I want my bootcuts to be full seat with the patch going all the way to my ankle. They are hard to find in my size.

Fuzzy Logic!!

I was just at a big trade show recently, and got a pair of breeches made for winter (they also make them for summer) called Fuzzy Logic…oh my gosh, they are soooo comfy, well-made, no inside seams, super soft on the inside and windproof/shavings & hair-proof on the outside! Boot cut and super flattering. LOVE them!

Try saddle seat style Kentucky Jodhpurs https://www.pands.net/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=17_24_25&zenid=3f2eb8ed5e234cab76f113582a4d0378

Thanks Renee for the suggestion, I do have a pair of the Kentucky Jodhpurs. They are a really thin polyester and the full seat is also some kind of thin material that doesn’t have the “stick” that I look for in a full seat. They sit stuffed in a corner with my other breeches buying mistakes.

Thanks Devcubber! We had a really good trade show and are so glad you love them as much as we do. The pants can also be found at www.caballodesigns.com if they aren’t found in a local tack shop near you.

Jess

jnel - Contact me as I can tell you the patch extends all the way down on the Fuzzy logic pants and I’m sure they’ll accomodate your size… jeasonbutler@gmail.com

suggestions for the petite short waisted rider?

I used the kerrits wintersport pantlast year. It was windproof, water resistant, bootcut with a zipper to make it tight around the leg. There is elastic to go under the boot. It looked presentable for the rest of the day. The cats did put claw holes in them when they absolutely had to get in my lap and mountaineered their way up. Last year Kerrits changed its sizing, so you would have to try them on to see what this years fit like.

I would like to know what else is out there. I would like to be warmer and the windblock is important to me.

Kerrits has a new winter bootcut out for 2009. It is a powerstretch bootcut.

www.kerrits.com has all the new Fall/Winter product!
