please tell me if I’m posting in the wrong area.
I need to find boots that will fit my 19" calf. I’m trying to not break the bank, but I’ll do what I have to.
I am a woman with size 12 feet, 10.5 in men’s.
I am just looking for tall boot ideas and chap ideas.
My leg length is 20"
thanks for anything you have to offer advice wise
One lady at our barn had lengthwise short calves but wide calves. She had her boots made. Just make sure you have a fitter fit them. The woman did her own measurements and the calves were not wide enough on the boots. You should find out when a boot fitter will be at a tack store or horse show near you, and have your measurements taken there, wearing the type of socks and riding pants that you will wear to ride. Costs more to have them fitted, but like saddles, it works if you (or with saddles, your horse) are not “average.”
My husband had the same issue when trying to buy tall boots. He ended up with a lovely pair from Tuffa Boots. He did not need to order a custom pair as they have several styles available in plus size for wide feet with different calf widths available. They are UK based and we live in the US, but it was easy to order and they shipped quite quickly. They were also so accommodating about answering our sizing questions via e-mail.
I have some for sale! Bought them for my boyfriend but they are too big for him. Please send me an email to flaxenfilly23@gmail.com if you’re interested. They are Treadstone 10.5 Mens Wide calf
A friend has some and they have lasted really well and look good. They have self measurement instructions but it is always worth talking to them too.
Are you me? We are exactly the same foot and calf size. I buy the Fuller Fillies boots. They do the job and hold up well, but are not comfortable (there is a TON of bulk in the ankle–I have to ride in guards all the time because after a year they still aren’t soft enough not to give me blisters). The fit and style is good for the price, though, and as yet, I have not found a comparable alternative.
I am the same size 8 feet. Im really hard to fit. The boots I’ve found that fit off of measurements on size charts are Mountain Horse and Ovation. They are reasonably priced and you can often find them on sale.
