Boots for endurance riding

Hello to all,

What is the best boots and chaps for endurance riding?
Thank ya all,
Libann

When I go for long rides I like to wear breeches (for me, jeans are only for QUICKLY hopping on. as in 1-5 minutes) the F.I.T.S. breeches are my favourite (possibly the most comfortable breeches in the world. lol), and half chaps (ariat is nice) and I also wear my ariat boots. If you think you will need to walk through water or muck, look into their work-type boots. I find Ariat very comfy and well-wearing. Redback also makes a nice VERY durable boot that I used around the barn and in the saddle for over 6 years now. they are only now starting to fall apart, but I’m gonna keep wearing them till the bottoms fall off!

I wear running shoes and half chaps. I like to spend as much time running beside the horse as I can.
I wear track pants, cheap, comfortable and you can change colors to match the tee shirt.

Ariat All Terrains, I bought the half chaps because they were on sale and I loved them so much I got the boots as well. They’re SO COMFORTABLE, I actually do all my barn work in them. 6+ hours on my feet, and I’m not sore at all.

I’ll never go back to regular paddock boots again!

Also, the half chaps are nice because they’re breathable, so my legs don’t get all sweaty and gross in the summer under my jeans.

I wear Justin lacers.

They are very comfortable, and I can hop off and run with the horse if I need.

I also use Dublin Easy Care Half Chaps. I have a pair in hot pink, and one in black. I love them!

Ariat Terrians

i really like the mountain horse sneakers

unfortunately my dog ate one of them and i wasn’t able to find another so i replaced them with mountain horse slip on jodhpur style boot and i learned that a slip on boot (one without laces) is not the best for endurance riding. these boots are not as snug fitting as laced up boots would be and allow the foot to move ever so slightly inside every time you post. by the end of 25 mile loop i could actually feel the raw skin on my heels.
so keep that in mind while shopping;)

Has anyone tried the Dublin Easy-Care Mesh Half-Chaps? Are they durable, are they cool?

I haven’t tried those. But I do love my Dublin Easy Care synthetic suede ones:

So comfy, and I don’t think they get overly hot.

I loff my Ariat Terrains and have had several pairs of them-
I have a pair of super light weight synthetic half chaps (can’t recall the brand though) that I will cry when they die because I haven’t been able to find them again

Ariat Terrains
Half Chaps with breeches or
Loose cotton athletic pants (11 bucks at wally) when it’s 10 million degrees.

endurance boots

Thank you all for your response. I’ve been riding in field boots and paddock
boots and they make my feet sore after a long ride…also, I do cross high
water…any sugguestions…
Thank ya all

ariat makes goretex lined paddock boot.

it’ll probably stay dry through high water, however, they’re too warm for summer riding.
i just let my boots and chaps get soaked and then dry.

you can also try waterproof trail running shoes w/ half chaps. those are my current favorite since they’re comfy enough to walk/run along w/ the horse on foot.

Ariat Terrains and half chaps. If you are into color, take a look at www.justchapsus.com. Mine are pink with purple fringe. Absolutely love them! The synthetic suede is really comfortable and I feel like I have better grip than with my suede half-chaps. And no … I’m not affiliated with them in any way. I just love color!

I have Ariat Dumas and half chaps. The ladies I often ride with have Mountain Horse tall boots, but they are married and retired, and have money whereas I do not. So half-chaps it is.

I like my Ariat H2O terrains. I have weird shape legs, short, but wide calves, so had to get custom chaps.

i have the Mountain Horse mountain rider i think tall boots. they are GREAT!! more comfy in the foot then some tennies:yes:, and waterproof so long as u dont go past the zipper.the sole is comfy and supportive. so they are great for being on ur feet, walking running with the horse etc. full length zipper is lovely to have. these arent the winter ones, so not too hot! i wear them to all my hunter paces and all my 6hr trail rides. worth every penny (about $180)!!!

i also have the Ariat all terrain and they are wonderful too!
