Boots for the clubby footed horse

Anybody have any good recommendations? I’ve got an Appaloosa with very upright conformation - including his feet. Right front foot is worse than the left but honestly both feet are very upright and he tends to grow in an upright pattern. His leg angles are pretty straight too, so this is a conformation thing - not a result of trimming.

Most hoof boots are made to fit horses with the classic “barefoot” style trim. I have an excellent trimmer who does an awesome job with what he’s got to work with - but this horse just naturally has more heel than most.

My other horse wants to grow out front with a long toe, underrun heel unless he is carefully managed by a good trimmer. The appy is the total opposite - looks like he’s walking on soup cans. Ugh. Any suggestions?

The Scoot Boot might work. I tried them last summer, and while they didn’t last long enough to be an option for me, they seemed pretty forgiving on fit.

Hank, good to know. I recently saw those online and they looked interesting. These boots are for my “spare horse” so wouldn’t rack up too many miles. Thanks!
