Boots for trail riding

Hi,
I’ve used the original Easy Boot in the past. It was anything but easy to put on, but I figured, once it was on the hoof it certainly wasn’t going anywhere! Any suggestions as to a better brand of boot. Easier to put on, will stay on when trail riding in mud and water and at walk, trot and canter. And ones that won’t break the bank!
Thanks!

I am using Renegades. I like everything about them, but if the foot is not pefectly trimmed we tend to have them pop off galloping on hard ground.

I am considering trying Scoot Boots.

Both of these will run you about $200 US a pair.

If your horse’s hooves are the right shape, the Cavallo Simple boot is great. I used to fox hunt in them and they were great.

Cavallo Simple Boots or Treks. Very easy to put on, and if sized right, stay on really well!

I’ve tried them all. I think Scoots are easiest. Renegades stay on best, in recent research - lol - but can be a pain to get set up correctly. If you don’t have the kind of mud where the leg sinks to the knees and comes out covered, Scoots are the best bet, I think.

Cavallos are hard to beat for ease of use and fit. Just be sure you get the proper footbed - regular is for a round foot and and slim is for an oblong foot. I think all of their models now come in both foot beds. I prefer the Sport boot to the simple boot, but next pair I buy will probably be the new Trek boot.

We just started using the Easy Boot Back Country Glove. We were in the Black Hills last week and put many miles on them in varied terrain, on two horses. They stayed on through numerous creek crossings, rocky trails, mud, tall grass. I’ve ridden in them some at all gaits and haven’t had an issue yet. Not tough to put on, easy off. You can order the Fit Kit and they send you sizes to try. My husband did that but I just measured and ordered and had no issues.

Slight hijacking of the thread - any preferred boots for a gaited horse, specifically a Tennessee Walker?

Scoot Boots! I love them so much I became a rep. They are easy to use, don’t hold water, stay on in mud, and are low profile. I’m happy to answer any questions on them. I have lots of info and ride reports on my Facebook group Scoot Boot Adventures (https://www.facebook.com/groups/191421184909626/) I can fit boots for you remotely using photos.
