Boots wearing on inside from friction on jump saddle?

My tall boots, which I prefer to wear when going XC schooling and need to wear when showing, are getting significantly worn on the inside of my calf from rubbing against my saddle. Is there anything I can do to stop this? I don’t want to buy new tall boots:no:

Thx!

You can get a boot repair place to add a patch.

It’s totally normal and inevitable that they wear there (better them than your legs!). Having a worn grayish/ brownish patch is not something to worry about at all. If they last long enough to wear to the point that they are wearing through and getting holes, than you need to replace or I guess try patching them, but mine usually wear out in the foot first.

I always consider it a badge of honor. Congratulations! You have enough hours in the saddle to wear out boots!

Are the boots made of calfskin? Calf wears relatively quickly. Is it your leathers that are causing excess wear? Some are thinner or softer than others… what type are yours?
