BOT sheet fit

So, just got a new horse. Would like to get the BOT scrim sheet for her. She wears an 84" blanket.
the scrims come in 81", & 87"

What do I do with that?

In my experience the BoT sheets run large. I’d go with the 81. The only place the “extra” causes me issues is that the neck opening is too big, but it does cover his ass really well!!

Go with the 81. I got the 75 for my true 78 guy and even still, it is a touch too big. If you want extra reassurance of sizing, check out the reviews on SmartPak. Most people are in the same boat.

My WB was a true 84” in all his other clothes but the 81” BOT fit him with room to spare. I’d definitely size down.

My older BOT fleece sheet runs a bit small - most noticeably its narrow through the shoulders, and doesn’t hang as low as most blankets on my horse. I recall reading many reviews of it being tight on the shoulders. But again, mine’s more than 5 years old so may be different than the current one.

Interesting that most are finding the sheets run large. I purchased a 78 for my horses that typically wear 75. They are both stock breeds that have large shoulders and needed the extra room there.

My mare measures 81", wears 78" in her Rambo blankets, and my 75" BOT sheet (from my previous horse) fits her well enough. It’s a bit snug so I wouldn’t turn her out in it, but I use it with no problems while grooming/tacking/handwalking pre-ride and while cooling out/feeding/grooming post-ride. I feel like it’s better to be a bit snug than too large for BOT specifically.

Not sure if this little video will upload correctly but if so you can see miss Ginni hamming it up while getting some yummy scratches under her BOT sheet…

I have the same type of horse (Morgan) and also had to size up. She’s a 72 but the 72 BOT sheet was way too snug in the shoulders. Got a 75 and I fasten the front up as tight as it goes and the rest fits her well.

There is a new mesh sheet actually the “deluxe” that looks like its cut better in the shoulders. Hoping to upgrade.

I’ve always sized down in the BOT sheet. I’ve even put an extra 78" on my 84" horse. No matter what though, they never fit as well as I want them to.

In my experience back on track sheets just don’t seem to fit very well particularly in the shoulder area on any of my horses whether it’s thoroughbreds or warm bloods

I recently purchased a similar therapy sheet from Schneider Saddlery with wither relief and it fits my downhill, huge shouldered, stock-build type warmblood very well!

Has anyone been able to get their hands on the new Sienna BOT sheet? Wondering how the fit compares. I agree with others that the original mesh sheet doesn’t fit my guy well enough to leave on for any significant amount of time.
