Boxing Day Hunt photos

I haven’t been hunting consistently over the years, but River Hills Foxhounds is very kind and allows me to bring a horse out now and then! I joined them yesterday for the Boxing Day Hunt and had a marvelous time on my event horse and thought everyone would enjoy seeing some of the photos.

If you’re not a FB person, I’m uploading to the farm blog now (link in my sig), so you can see them there too.

Great photos! I thought that folks might enjoy the photos of our Boxing Day meet by Peter Gilles:

We had a lovely blue sky day and no snow on the ground for a change.

Metamora Hunt

Oh, beautiful photos both of you! Very much brightening this dreary, rainy day… and feeding the foxhunting monster lurking inside…

Ah, Hotspur yours are fancier!!! Looks like a great day for your hunt!

Hee hee on feeding the monster within! I was just happy to get out of the arena for a bit and let my mare do what she does best! It’s also good fun to leave counting changes and lateral work far, far behind and just RIDE for a few hours!

And please accept my apologies for the lack of focus on some of mine - the iPhone is not quite the camera that the Canon is and I was not brave enough to hunt with that around my neck!

Peter Gilles

The Metamora Hunt Boxing Day photos were taken by Peter Gilles. Peter is a long time Metamora resident and a very talented photographer. He has attended our meets for several years and has a fabulous eye for the beauty of hounds and horses. Here is one of Peter’s images that is my favorite of my wife and myself:

If you are ever in the Metamora area, be sure to stop by the White Horse Inn for a nice meal and to enjoy the beautiful display of Peter’s prints that are part of the decor there.

Lovely photos, both of you.

Jealous.

Sigh.
