Warning, those are some of the most graphic breakdown pictures I have ever seen. Godspeed.
And people jump over the US media for their pictures. My goodness! That was one of the worst breaks I’ve ever seen (and that’s saying something). That poor horse. It looked like Bling Bling was down for the count too, he laid there for a long time. It said he cut his head I wonder if he was knocked for a loop too? Or maybe he just had the wind knocked out of him. At least he is OK.
wow… is all i can say
Good God, that was like a bad Nascar pile up. I do not mean to be funny, but what a wreck! Godspeed to that poor horse!
There are actually worse pictures than that of the same incident out there. Poor boy.

Where?
I didn’t think they could get much worse!
If you do a search on Getty Images, some very graphic photos come up.
Ok, found those pics on getty images. Wow… I am surprised he could get back up. What happened to Bling Bling? He was down for the count.
So what did you guys think of the big Cup?
Nice to see Efficient finally come good again, he sure looked like a world beater winning the V-Derby last year, I was expecting all kinds of great things from him (think I may even have started a thread on him at the time). Then he went of the boil, fell off the radar. Good to see him back.
Good god, those Getty Images were horrible!!
Is it just the angle (one of the getty images), or did his leg actually fall off from the hock down?
::shudder::
It looked to be dangling in some of the pics and then separated from the rest of his
body in some. And he tried to stand on it. Shudder!
When will I learn to not look at those photos!! Not that it really matters I guess, but it looks like the leg is folded up out of view in the one photo, since the other one it looks to be still attached. Again, what difference does it make, it was bad anyway you look at it. And still not even as bad as the picture I saw once of a horse that broke both front legs and was trying to stand. That is why I quit going to races in person. I still watch a few on TV now and then, but it is too the point that most of the joy of watching them is gone as I just hold my breath the whole way that no one gets hurt. I don’t even care half the time who wins.
I have this love/hate relationship with horse racing I guess. I use to love it but after seeing so many horrific breakdowns on TV I just don’t know anymore. That is why I quit going in person. I can turn off the TV or choose not to look at the pictures, but in person I would be thowing up on the poor person next to me. Don’t misunderstand, it still doesn’t make it okay when a horse breaks down to be able to turn it off. I am real close to the point where I give up following racing all together. After seeing Landseer break down I didn’t watch another race for over a year.
I saw the video of the one that broke both front legs. Quarter horse at some hometown track. Talk about shudder!
Definitly don’t want to see the video. Seems like the picture I saw was at a track in Texas.
