Breeches color question

For the record, I have never been a fan of white breeches. I have always worn tan for the dressage/SJ phases at events. However, last summer I did some recognized dressage shows. Although I probably wouldn’t have been “rung out” by the judge–I realized I might stick out like a sore thumb (or worse, an eventer!) if I wore tan breeches.

So I bought those Ovations in white-with the grey full seat. For white breeches, they are the first that doesn’t make me resemble a beached whale when I am wearing them. They are comfortable. They are white though, which meant that I did need to attempt to keep them clean–which was not always a successful endeavor. I do have the darker grey Ovations and would consider those too dark to wear in the dressage phase of an event. But those light tan Ovations look pretty light in the photo—you could definitely get away with those! Unless you are really stuck on light grey.

On the color thing, I would LOVE to find a nice pair of affordable full seats in a cream or champagne color - it seems so hard to find.
I think I’ve seen fits, and maybe pikeur in that color, but they are a bit out of my budget.

It’s such a nice color for breeches, I am surprised there are not more breeches in that color - eggshell, cream, or whatever.
Not sure how affordable you are looking but I used to like my Irideon Cadence full seats in Sand. Looks like the have up dated them some since I had them…might have to get a pair.

I definitely wouldn’t go with the regular ‘grey’ colored Ovations, I do agree those are too dark. I have the dove grey which would be perfect except for the blue seat, and a brown color which I use for schooling and I love. My only unknown with them is how they hold up in hot weather as I got them for Christmas. I do like the Ovations though and will probably end up with the tan or the white. I would prefer light grey but at the end of the day, I want to be comfortable too and I know I am in these!

I have the kerrits crossovers in grey and they are a little lighter than they appear in the picture. I was actually disappointed when I got them as I wanted a darker grey. I will be wearing them to show in this summer as white is not happening and I am not a big fan of tan.

Cream - http://www.spoilthorse.co.uk/Rugged-Horse-Cream-Full-Seat-Competition-Breeches

I bought FlightCheck a pair for Christmas, but don’t remember what brand they were.

I get Pikeurs on sale from either Amira Equi or Calevo. Scored a couple pairs for under $150 in the fall
Oh Scubed, those are gorgeous! I love the color! If only they had the sock type bottom. I have sworn off Velcro for all future purchases.
