Breeches that are long in the leg AND rise?

Tall girls, you know we have an issue from crotch to waist. (And some hand clapping here to Lands’ End, JCPenney and Eddie Bauer tall sizes for recognizing this reality. They get it.)

What are your go-tos for breeches that don’t act as though a pack of gremlins are pulling them down your backside, eager to make you the next unwitting TikTok sensation?

I’m a tall in everything (thank you American Eagle jeans), and TS midrise trophy hunters in side zip are my favorite. They don’t ride up or down, and I’ve tried a ton of the lower priced brands with no luck. Pipers are the worst about it . I’ve not tried anything of the newer high end breeches though so maybe one of those might work!

Check out www.Leveza.ca

Fantastic Canadian company and I am obsessed with their breeches because I love a super high rise. https://www.leveza.ca/products/nefertiti-navy

I’m tall with long legs and need a higher rise than average, too.

I like the Romfh Sarafina breeches. They are a little higher than a mid-rise, though not high-waisted, and the longs are a great length. The only issue is they’re cut pretty straight through the hip and thigh, and if you go up a size to accommodate that, you end up with gaping at the waist.

Romph. I have regular to short legs and they are a tad long for me but perfect everywhere else.

31” inseam here.

The Romfh Sarafina is reasonably good at this but the fit just isn’t right on me. I have big quads and glutes and no particular waist.

The best I’ve found are the Smartpak Hadley, actually. The only breeches I’ve ever had to return the long length for regular because they were TOO long. Even the regular length has a nice long rise that hits me well.

TOO LONG! Bah ha ha ha. That’d be the day.

SmartPak Piper knit mid-rise. The longs usually hit me right at my ankle bone, and I’m 5’9" with fairly long legs.

I just got some high waisted Horze winter breeches and they are quite high. I don’t think any of the Horze breeches come in longs though, and the ones I got could stand to be about 2" longer.

5’11’ here! I bought a pair of Free Rides on sale last summer based on recommendations on the COTH…

Now I have 6 pairs and I’m pretty sure Santa is bringing me more - I may never wear another brand to school in. High enough, long enough, SUPER comfy like yoga pants.

Rompf Champions.

I went breeches shopping on Friday for the first time in 10,000 years and was so grossed out by some of the fabrics, particularly the stuff marketed as tights. Ugh, ugh, ugh.

Harumph.

I have three pair of the Piper knit high-rise in the long length. I love them! I wear them under my shotgun chaps in cold weather or with tall boots. The silicone knee patch area is subtle enough that I can wear them around town or hiking. Plus, they are a more substantial fabric than typical riding tights, which my older body shape appreciates.

I gotta tell you, I’m not sold on all this silicone stuff. I can barely handle the non-velvet hunt caps … er, helmets. And now they want to take my suede or ultrasuede knee patches away?

haha, I’m the total opposite and soooo glad riding clothes are being treated like you are actually participating in a sport and not taking part in a formal ball. Gimme the tech stuff, all the tech stuff lol

Come, drink the Kool-Aid. Sip it slowly at first, then gulp wildly as your body accepts the saccharine tonic. (We even have cherry flavor).

What is the fit like? And do you know what the color “light sage olive” is like? The photo looks grey…… TIA.

The fits pull on performax work for me. I’m very long in the body my legs are normal

Updating: I tried the Kerrits Crossover 2 in XL, and they didn’t fit. The calf was too tight and the waistband unforgiving. I may have been able to live with the odd main fabric, but then the knee patch was like something from a pleather chair in a doctor’s office waiting room. With the drawbacks, I was unwilling to go up a size.

I have three pairs on the way from different manufacturers. How I wish that long were offered in every waist size. Ugh.

5’10 here with a very long waist, I usually need a long, but I always need a mid-high waist breech. I really love the Dover Wellesley breeches. They do not come in a long, but they are pretty long as is. They hit just above my ankle, but I wouldn’t be offended if they came up a inch or so higher on my calf, so I think they are plenty long for most of us tall gals. I love where the waist hits me, I can actually tuck shirts in to my breeches! I don’t, but I COULD lol.

Added bonus- they are not super expensive!

@ZuzusPetals, they have stretch but aren’t a super “tech” fabric, they feel a bit more sturdy.

There is a Dover right down the road from my work, so these are pretty popular around here, many of my friends have and love them. I gave my mom a pair and she loves them too.
