Breeches with suede knee patches and phone pocket

I’m on the hunt for some knee patch breeches. NO silicone. I do like a phone pocket and some “technical” fabric vs cotton/cotton-like material.

My go to for non-silicone fullseats is Pikeur, but I cannot find a good knee patch breech without silicone from them.

I have 2 pairs of Horseware Rights and Kerrits tights that meet this criteria but they’re very thin and more of a second skin feel. I want something cool (not winter breeches), but a bit more substantial.

Any ideas?

I’m probably one of the few dressage riders that generally prefers knee patch and no sticky/silicone, but I figured it’d be worth an ask.

It looks like the Pikeur “Landy Hunter” breeches have the McCrown knee patch - I realise that the McCrown is fake suede but I assuming if you have Pikeurs already they are the McCrown seats. Note not the “Landy” breeches as these are self-fabric knee patches. They don’t have phone pockets unfortunately.

If you wear a 32R these could be just what you want.

Yes, the Pikeur I have are the mccrown seat. It doesn’t have go be real suede, just suede like and not silicone.

The FITS would be a good shout, but 32R is too big. I’ll see if there are any remaining pairs still out there.

I would size down if you are in between sizes or close. I am usually a 6 or 8 in jeans so I bought a medium and a small on sale and I much prefer the fit of the small. They are thicker than my other breeches but not too hot and very comfortable. I do find they slide down a bit without a belt, even in the smaller size, but I have that problem with almost all breeches other than my super high waisted pikeurs so I think that’s just a “me” problem. They usually have some decent sales throughout the year. I’ve had mine about a year and they wash (regular machine wash and tumble dry) and wear well so far!

I actually love my cheap-o breeches, Willit, from Amazon! I have horses at home and they are holding up to barn work and riding as well as pricier brands. At less than $40, well worth it, imo.

Smartpak’s Hadley breeches have a good technical fabric, large pockets that can fit a phone, and have suede knee patch (as well as suede full seat, and both knee patch and full seat with silicon). They have a few fit options, mid rise or high rise, and regular and curvy fit, each with different color options but here is the link to the regular one:

I think free ride equestrian has some suede knee patches breeches. Amazing pockets and substantial but cool fabric.

Just to second the Willet Amazon breaches, they are comfortable and indestructible.

Baleaf on Amazon

Was just browsing and saw these. I know nothing about them but per the picture, they have knee patches and a phone pocket.

I did get the BALEAF breeches on a whim a few months ago, and they pilled quite a bit. You get what you pay for though!

Looking up all of the suggestions now. Thank you for all of the suggestions so far!

Has anyone ever tried Sync breeches? I saw that they came out with a suede-like full seat, but I haven’t looked at their knee patch inventory. I don’t mind full seat in winter, early spring, and late fall, but ain’t no way I’m wearing full seat during the hot summers we have here!

Looking through my options and realizing that the problem is definitely me! I’m picky about needing a phone pocket (now that I’ve had them I can’t go without) and about seams in certain places.

If I could do silicone, life would be easier. I just hate the feeling. I know some swear it doesn’t harm saddle leather, but I’m rather protective of my soft Italian saddle.

I have only tried sync silicone and absolutely hate them. But most of my complaint is vanity (they are so so so unflattering on my thighs) and the silicone seat (I get a rash because it’s so sticky that they don’t move at all and my skin takes the brunt of the movement). I know people who love them though - just know the return policy is only two weeks, so if you try them and don’t like them, you don’t have a lot of time! Which I think is scammy.
