Breed suggestions for stallion

The big hit in driving horses these days are the Dutch Carriage horses… you’ll be able to find some nice stallions within the Amish horse communities in your area.

The size might be a deal breaker with the DHH. Just looked on line and didn’t see much. I’m surprised you suggest the Amish. I didn’t know they would be known for nice stallions nor how to find one. There is a Friesian stallion that everyone is gaga over in my area that I just heard about but he is rump high and it is being passed on to his foals.

Do Friesians typically cross well to TBs? I see them advertised for sale quite a bit and as the Friesian is less “drafty” than many other heavy breeds, it seems intuitively as if it might come out well, but I’ve never actually seen one in person.

Bombproof did you see the link I posted? He’s Friesian/Tb and showing Grand Prix.

Friesian/Tb and Friesian/Wbld are the most popular choice for sport use. The Friesian Sporthorse Assoc website has a lot of information www.friesiansporthorseassociation.com

I just want to say I am getting good info from all of your suggestions.

Thank you. I am fairly new to carriage driving and have trained her myself. We are really starting to come together in that last year.
