Breeders Cup 2022 - Keeneland

I like that the BC live stream commentators talk about and show the horses. So much better than NBC.

Does the Keeneland bugler always play Charge and not Boots & Saddles?

Yeah, I wondered about that too.

And I just realized I goofed. It’s not Charge. It’s also not Boots & Saddles. Hmmm.

But it’s not Track Clear either.

WLG ran very gamely to get up for 3rd.
She basically had to make a hole to get out off the rail & squeeze between two more horses before seeing daylight.

Nice ride by the winner. The horse sure is a looker.

And he’s a gelding.

Some of you may have already known this, but I thought it was a neat little story.

amI wrong to think Rebel’s Romance reminds me of Midnite Lute? Big Black horse!

I wonder why. Godolphin doesn’t often cut the colts; for one thing, gelding in Europe automatically disqualifies a horse from a lot of top races.

Temperament. I doesn’t in Dubai and that’s were he’ll go next.

Is the Classic really a classic? What makes it so? It’s not run over a classic distance (it’s only a mile and a quarter). There are only 8 runners this year, and they’re all American horses. In fact this year’s field are all Kentucky-breds.

IMO the Turf is the true classic of the day. It’s a mile and a half, it’s got a 13-horse international field, and today it was won by an Irish-bred ridden by an English jockey.

I don’t get what’s classic about the Classic.

Classic American distance. 1 and 1/4 mile like the Derby and the Travers I think.

Best dirt horses in the world. European horses usually run in the B.C.turf races because European horses are turf bred and usually race on turf.

Flightline is beautiful.

Come home safe all.

I think it’s Revillie , the wake up call.

Think you could bet anything in the Classic if you want to go against Flightline. The only thing lacking with him is coming up against experienced, quality horses that just say no to being passed. If he breaks on top, imagine he will stay there.

Would take HRC (who gets Lava Man in his last stint as a Pony horse), Epicenter and maybe RS who really shouldn’t be 20-1. IMO. Not that I think they can win but would be nice if they could hit the board.

Anybody else want to weigh in before post time?

He really is. “Look of eagles” for sure.

He definitely does have the “look of eagles”, for sure.
