Wow, such ire. For the record, I’m not saying MVE tanks are “bad” or that the link I’ve posted is for a better tank. All I’m saying is there are other companies out there that don’t charge so much, and your post seems directed at people looking for a deal.
I’ve actually been through this before on this bb, when I argued that tanks marketed to the bovine industry can be found at cheaper prices than those marketed to horse people. (Believe me, people in the bovine industry would be no less upset at losing frozen semen, regardless of the price per straw, and would have ZERO brand loyalty to a company selling failing tanks.)
Check out this thread, if only for the entertainment value:

My point is there are other options out there. I don’t understand your vehemence at me for letting people know there are other manufacturers with lower prices.
What kind of guarantee comes with MVE tanks? Why do the they require (or recommend) a $344 cover?
I make no claims for the tanks I posted about, but I’ve heard the “thin-walled, made in China” argument before. Here’s what I found out about MVE tanks:
MVE tanks are manufactured by Chart Industries, whose headquarters are in Garfield, Ohio.
Semen tanks are listed under their “Distribution & Storage” division, which has US service centers in Georgia, Texas, and Minnesota. This division has sales centers in Shanghai, China and Solingen, Germany.
The distribution and storage division has “Operating Units” in the US in Georgia and Minnesota as well as Decin, Czech Republic and Changzhou, China.
The company also has a location in Zangjiagang, China not attributed to any one division. So it looks to me that MVE tanks – or at least parts of them – may be manufactured in China too.
