Breeding a medium to a warmblood

Why not breed to a German Riding Pony? They are warmbloods in a smaller package. ;)
This needs repeated again…

Not really per say.

I also do not see why it would be safer to chose a WB mare with a poney stallion rather than the other way around. Mares will have at least as much of an impact on the foal than stallion. So if, as you say, there is a risk of hidden height using a stallion, the exact same thing can be said about a mare.
Not a risk of hidden height, but a medical risk from tring to squeeze a potentially big foal out of a small body (if my understanding is correct).

Studies have shown otherwise though. Size of the foal at birth depends, notably, on the size of the mares uterus.

I’ve read that, too, and in the wild it happens. But in cattle, with a heifer, they do not use a big bull for the first calf. I think I would not sleep for eleven months.

You could let the previous breeders do the work and risk and breed to a small stallion, i.e. GRP.
