Bridle - PS of Sweden/flying change Revolution
Is the elastic inset dressage legal? I thought the headstall had to be all of the same material or something along those lines! (I will admit to having skimread the tack regulations haha)
You can easily cut out the elastic inserts.

BrokenArrow I PM’d you would love to know where you got your PS of Sweden cheaper version?

I had the pleasure of visiting their warehouse in Wellington and the quality and technology that goes into each piece is really impressive. As for sizing I would say they run big. My 17.h Oldenburg / draft x could have almost squeezed into the Full. However I opted to exchange it for the X-Full.

I am a tack snob, and I recently bought one of their double bridle and absolutely adore it

Just as follow up, my young horse LOVES it and so do I!

Question. Is there a reason it has to be PM’d and can’t just be put here? I just wondered.

I keep getting conflicting answers on the sizing. Do these run big, or run small? I hear both. My horse is too large for most cob bridles but too small for most horse bridles. Do I order Cob? Pain to ship back to sweden if it’s not right.

If you go on the “pick & mix” section of the website and click each piece they have measurements. You can also take measurements and email them to customer service and they will let you know what size is best. However I did that and they suggested full, however it barely fit my horse on the biggest hole. He is usually an x-full so the fact full almost fit tells me they run big.

You could also ask customer service about returning it to Wellington instead of Sweden if it doesn’t fit. Shipping would be a lot cheaper I assume.

Don’t forget to order the throat latch - it is not included with their bridles.

And also make time to drool over their gorgeous blingy browband selection

They definitely run large. My horse usually is somewhere between full and x-full size. I ordered full and it does fit her but I have it done up to the tightest holes and I had to punch a few more holes in the throatlatch. I may have been better off with a cob size.

Are they dressage legal? We have a horse who hates cavessons (we think an old jaw injury is the issue) and this seems like a great compromise as he moves up the levels.

They run large, I would try cob first.

I bought the High Jump and loved it. The full size fit my normal headed size horse, once I figured out how to fit it. See my thread on ‘fitting PS of Sweden bridle’ on H/J.

I am just about to order the Top Notch Revolution, but I am a little worried about the width of the noseband. 2" seems VERY wide.

Also, one last check on the rolled leather. I had a rolled bridle for my hunter back in the 70’s and was sorry to see them go out of fashion. So I would love to get a rolled leather bridle and this one is to die for. Will I look dated in rolled leather, or is it acceptable now?

You can always sell it. They are hot right now in the US market.

I hesitated about rolled too because I’m old enough to remember when they went out of fashion. The good thing is I’m also old enough to not care about fashion anymore and just get something that I love

Rolled leather is very ‘in’ right now! I am seeing more and more companies hop on the band wagon. I love it, have the double bridle in rolled leather and will get the top notch revolution as soon as they restock the black. Do you do dressage or h/j? The nose band will be thicker than what you normally see in the h/j ring.

I was on their website and it say’s they are have a March mid season sale?

Great thread! I am looking into PS of Sweden, too!

I emailed about sizes. They had me measure between the ears and at the ear base and around the nose. My horse is Frieslan x warmblood and usually wears warmblood size. They told me he could most likely wear the full on the last holes, but recommended x full.

I asked about the sale. They said it is an in store sale, but might be online, too. Just have to wait til March 1.

The sales rep specifically reminded me to get the throat latch as I compete in dressage. Apparently it’s not needed in the jumper ring now?

Not sure if some of PS’ jumping style nosebands would fit the “combined noseband” requirement of this rule? I can’t really see anyone going for this look in dressage but who knows?

LOL I am both Jumper and Dressage. (I do not ride both disciplines. I have pros ride both horses in their respective disciplines. I had always been H/J but the expense burned me out. Dressage is SO MUCH LESS expensive, so I can enjoy it without the sleepless nights, worrying how I am going to pay for it.)

I bought a PS of Sweden bridle for the jumper and then wanted one for the dressage horse. It KILLED me that the Top Notch was not only sold out, but there is no date posted when they expect to have some in stock.

So I called the rep in Wellington and she went to the warehouse and… found the Top Notch in black, size full. She also found the wide reins (rolled), the black rolled throatlatch and, of course I had to also get a bling browband.

It was shipped today and I will have it mid week, next week. I will post photos when it comes.

(I sold my soul to the devil to buy it, but, what the hell. You only get to buy one show bridle, right?)
