Bridles that go on like a halter

A long time ago, a client with an excessively ear shy gelding bought an endurance bridle that went on with a strap that flipped over the poll, like a halter, rather than pulled over the ears. The bit then clipped to rings on the side.

I cannot find such a bridle, but I now have an ear shy horse on lease for lessons that short people struggle to bridle. A halter/bridle would help this issue immensely. Do these still exist?

Like this?

Distance Depot makes a combo halter/bridle with no browband and snap-on attachments for the bit:

I believe they also have a mule-style bridle with a clip that goes over the poll but iirc that one is not a halter/bridle combo.

Mule style bridle is what I’d be looking for!

American Trail Gear custom made me one because after my mare’s accident (crashed into something in the field, we think maybe a tree, and crushed part of her skull and lost an eye) she can’t handle her one ear being touched very much.
I had it made as a side pull but I’m sure it could be made with regular cheek pieces for a bit

Sort of, except that looks like it would still have to slide over the ears?

I am off to google Mule bridles!

Ah true, you could take the browband off and just secure the throatlatch to the rest by either putting a loop or tie where the browband connects it, or maybe with a poll pad that would go around both. That is if you can’t find a ready made one for cheaper!
