Bringing my Jumper TB to Maryland - Where to train/board/live?
Ok all here’s the fun one now ---- Tack Shops!! Where should we go? We are visiting barns this weekend and would also love to SHOP! BTW - all of you are so helpful. Really psyched!
In Frederick there is: Tractor Supply, Southern States, the Walmart on Rt 15 has a very teensy selection of horse things in the pet section

Not too far from Frederick: Stablemates in Mt Airy, HC Summers in Jefferson (feed and supplies, no tack), All About Equestrian in Poolesville, The Surrey in Darnestown

A little further out: Saddlery Liquidators/The Tack Box/Middleburg Tack Exchange all in Middleburg, VA, the other Saddlery Liquidators in in Haymarket (kind of a haul but is a LOT bigger)

Honestly, I think going to Middleburg would be the most fun for you. Just check their hours first.

Also send you a BIG PM about barns.

There’s also Dover in Chantilly, it’s not that far from Middleburg. If you coming down already, I’d add it to the list.

You should visit Rachel at iselltack.com for some high end tack heaven!!! She is in Adamstown,md.

If you are willing to look beyond an exclusively h/j barn, look up Destination Farm in Dickerson. Natalie Hollis is an upper level eventer and does a stellar job. Super friendly, barn is low-key, turnout is lovely. They have host jumper nights regularly, in addition to showing all season.
I bought a horse from them this spring and actually spent a day at a horse trial with them. Lovely facility and really nice people. If I lived in the area, I would definitely play eventer with them some! My horse was well represented and came with a solid set of basics. They do a good sales business with OTTBs so they certianly know the breed.
