Broccoli oil?? Camelina Seed oil for horses? High in O3

I stumbled upon this googling ‘omega 3 oil horse’.
Anyone familiar with this oil?

I take it, it’s considered safe. I had never heard of this.

Wondering if I should switch from fish oil to this? I normally alternate fish oil with flax.
Any thoughts? Thanks :).

It’s about a dollar for a quarter of a cup, their recommended feeding size. Is that equivalent to what you feed of fish oil or flax?

I don’t know anything about feeding fish oil, but I am told that flax oil isn’t as stable. I feed whole flax seed ground fresh daily. I used to use soybean oil till I found out the Omega 6 was too high. I am going to be starting my horse and donkeys on ExcelEQ tomorrow, I’ve a few friends using it on their performance horses with good results. They feed 1 ounce per day. Its like 70.00 a gallon. There are several products out there for horses now made of this oil. Its supposed to compare to flax oil only more stable and it contains naturally occurring vitamin E.

Yes, I have been feeding it as part of PSSM/whole foods diet for about 8 months. My mare in steady work gets about 2 oz per day. It is basically European flaxseed oil–a bit higher in Omega 3s. I also feed whole flaxseed as part of her diet.

Honestly, I’m not sure it’s worth the price, but it is a nice product.

FYI, I once received Pumpkin Seed oil by accident from the Oregon Seed Oil Company. They quickly corrected the error and re-sent my Camelina Oil. But that Pumpkin Seed oil is truly delicious!

Flax is fairly stable.
