Broken Horn saddles: A tad narrow?

What’s your experience?

I haven’t owned many western saddles-- right now just a MacPherson and a Broken Horn. Both are Equitation Buckets made circa 1980.

The Broken Horn seems more narrow-- up front, but also behind. The skirt pouches up a bit near the center of the cantle.

Is this real or am I hallucinating?

Also, do I want to add a similar build/vintage Victor saddle to my collection? Can I rationalize that by reference to its fitting differently?

I can’t answer your questions but oh how I’d love to find me an equitation bucket saddle of great quality!! Jealous
