Bromont 2022

No thread for Bromont this weekend? So glad to see Lila Gendal in the 4* - she’s so nice and has worked her butt off for years. Hope she has a great weekend.

Is anyone going? It’s a couple of hours from me, and if my pony is still footsore I’m thinking of a little road trip tomorrow to console myself for missing a jump lesson on Sunday. Bromont is such a great place.

Kind of shocked they run FEI divisions with only 2 riders.

Some of the divisions are small but I didn’t see any with only 2 (that would be shocking). This is what I was looking at - am I missing something? https://bromonthorsetrials.com/en/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2022/08/2022_TIMETABLE_VERSION_E.pdf

Three star under 25 had three riders, the winner had a stop, and the other two didn’t finish, one with a MR and one with a RF. The two star S had two riders, one had a 25 dressage score and 19 time and won over the horse with a 35 dressage score and no time penalties on xc. The two star S under 25 had six entries. Only two of those didn’t have stops on xc. Event Entries is my information.

No audience there either, from what I could see.

Never is! It’s pretty isolated out there.

Glad to see Andrew McConnon on the Nation’s Cup team, and that he had a good weekend - his mom taught me to ride and he and I overlapped at the barn a bit as kids, so I’m always rooting for him!

Oh dear, that all makes me sad. I remember when Bromont was a big deal and we had a lot of fun. First long format I groomed at; first I course I ever walked. Love that place. What the heck happened? Is it just too far for people? Not fancy enough? That stadium ring though!!

What on earth?

"The course was big and technical, and the terrain at Bromont is hilly. The combination of all three factors caught out a number of horses and riders who were not up for the challenge today. There were falls in every CCI division, and three riders are currently in hospital for observation."

This isn’t a flex :frowning:

At least they are injured in Canada where will take care of them for free if they don’t have their own insurance. Hopefully they all recover.

They had the big event with the Longs back in June that was very well attended. This was just Shorts.
