Scary stuff. Hoping nobody here was involved! Early news reports say injuries, but none euthanized.
Prayers for everyone involved! They grey in the video looks amazingly calm for what just happened. <3
That trailer was carrying 7 of Aleron’s horses. Alexis reports that one horse is in the hospital and that all the rest are down with her.
Scary. It looks like they were all in box stalls, so if they were lucky, maybe they just got bounced around a bit. Fingers crossed for them.
It’s quite an eye opener to see the damage that can happen to one of those large vans. They look as solid as an aircraft carrier, until something like this.
Holy cow, I would not have guessed such a big truck would get so damaged! Scary
One was euthanized
Oh no.
The Brookledge post on Facebook said one horse was tranquilized. Not euthanized.
I’m hoping the local news got that wrong.
According to Aleron’s FB post, one horse is in the hospital and the others are in Thermal, err, Coachella. I think they were all in box stalls.
wishfullthinking’s post is not an update ???
There was a local news report earlier in the day that a horse had been euthanized, which I believe was incorrect at that time.
I keep coming across an article that states that one horse was euthanized due to substantial bleeding. Hopefully I am wrong but I have seen it a few times.
I just saw it again it is an abc7.com report that says 1 euthanized and 2 injured posted around 1pm. Is this incorrect information??
Ahhh I see now. Well then I am glad that the news report is wrong! Thanks Peggy for clearing that up.
Hope all will recover well.
Jingles for all involved.
Alexis and the horse’s owner have both said the horse is okay. No horses euthanized.

Not at all as survivable as an aircraft carrier (my business :D). It’s a thin skinned (0.00006 inch at best) a semi-trailer. I see a sheet metal (likely aluminum) skin with foam board insulation and presumably a 1/2" wood or plastic liner on the other side of that. If I were going to compare this construction to a ship, it would be an Indy class LCS. (Most of that report is crap though)
One side is bashed in. I was expecting more along the lines of this or the fairly common rolled trailer.
I’ve seen some really good semi wrecks over the years and this isn’t in the top 10. It’s still recognizable as a truck.
Hope the horses heal quick.
