Brown helmet with jods?

Help a mom out. I ride western horses so this is outside my knowledge.

Daughter will be showing some local hunter/jumper shows in a walk trot crossrails division. She has brown paddock boots.

Right now she just has a schooling helmet. Would it be acceptable for her to wear my brown One K helmet (we wear the same size)? Brown paddock boots, brown garters, brown gloves, brown helmet? She needs a coat so we could pick a coordinating color.

Just trying to save some money, but I will buy her a black helmet if I really should.

Brown will be fine! Depending on how lowkey the shows are and how flashy her schooling helmet is it might be fine as well.

It’s a pretty ugly schooling helmet complete with scratches and scuffs.

Absolutely fine. Paired up with a hunter green jacket , I would swoon. I had a dark brown velvet hunt cap as a kid. I got it because I loved its deep color.

There are cleaning/polishing products available for polycarbonate.

Totally appropriate! Come back with pics of cute kid having fun at her first horse show.

Yes. It’s very traditional and used to be the norm. Neat and tidy is the goal.

Thanks! This won’t be her first but will be her first in the hunter/jumper world. Style is much different than in AQHA!

I’m with @hoopoe, sounds adorable!

Is anyone here old enough to remember the days where we kept our helmets in the car to get the bleached brown velvet look? Brown helmet for your daughter is fine. And looking forward to seeing show photos
