Brownland Farm to be Developed.

Looks like Brownland Farm is under contract to be sold for a mixed use development–including apartments, condos along with some commercial. First public meetings are gearing up. https://www.franklintn.gov/home/showdocument?id=32009

End of an era.

Anybody got any memories to share?

ugh, oh no! More sprawl…
So very sad to hear this.

Wow. No stories, but wow. One of the few great places to show in TN.

Okay, checked with a source who knows more than I do, and there will be a new Brownland not far from current Brownland. So all is not lost!

This is tragic! My favorite horse show.

I hate these threads! I only know of Brownland through the Chronicle but my heart breaks every time another equestrian property gets sold for development.

With all the construction there I was wondering. Honestly it’s saddest because one of my favorite part of Brownland is parties at the big house. :frowning: “New Brownland” can’t replicate that.

But they are rebuilding…so all is not lost.

It won’t be the same, but at least there will still be a Brownland Farm. I used to love showing there.

Pave paradise, put up a parking lot,

So THAT’S what that song is saying. I never understood the word “Pave”. Thanks. I knew “Pink paradise, put up a parking lot” didn’t make sense.

You never know what the next revelation will be on the BB.

This is so sad! I do not see this information on any of the Brownland Farm social media sites so I’m guessing most people don’t even know about this yet.

What a shame. :frowning:

on the other hand, there has been a LOT of flooding at Brownland the last few years, so while it SUCKS that the land is being lost, from a horse show perspective, this might work out better for the exhibitors

What an expensive rebuild!

With a pink hotel, boutique and a swinging hot spot…Joni Mitchell’s song was spot on back in the era and now.
Don’t it always seem to go,
That we don’t know what we’ve got till it’s gone…

There’s a muni golf course where the riding academy was that I rode at in Savannah. At least it’s bucolic.
