Hello,
I am looking for a source for leather buckle nose halters. I need a cob size halter and a pony size halter and I am hoping some one can refer me to a website or a store that carries them.
Thanks in advance!

I know Marjean at Camptown Harness has synthetic buckle nose halters
don’t know if she has leather but Im sure she can get it
most Amish will modify a regular leather into a buckle nose but then you are paying twice for the same thing
give her a call to talk about it
Try England. Most of the “head collars” there seem to have buckle noses so you might be able to get one at a reasonable price, even with exchange and shipping. I bought mine there years ago and LOVE them!
Is this close to what you are looking for? http://greenhawk.com/wdItemDesc.asp?strilhID=Web&strmdNumber=HNP5692&stricSKU=HNP5692
I thought this

was what OP was seeking.
I bought mine in the UK, had a hard time finding leather in the US.
Horseloverz has some shires buckle nose halters in their closeout shires section.
Can anyone tell me the advantage of the buckle nose over the buckle chin? I saw this design in one of my old harness making books.
I was thinking of making some of these as they seem easier to use when grooming and clipping.
Lori - Yes, good for grooming. But for me the real bonus is when tacking up in a “public” place, like a hunt meet where your horse may be excited and somewhat distracted. You can put your bridle on top and then smoothly remove the halter and never have that “I sure hope he stands still” moment. Same thing when unbridling - slide/fasten nose strap under bridle then remove bridle.
In my experience the buckle chin straps are for size adjustability and have too many keepers to remove and refasten smoothly and quickly.
Driving Essentials usually has them, but they appear to be sold out right now.

Are there prices there? I am missing them but I assume they have to be there somewhere.

Iowa Valley has them in biothane. Mine ran small and I had to get a cob to fit my 12.2 Welsh with a refined head.
I got mine at Iowa Valley Carriage. Although mine is Bio.
I recently had (4) of them custom made by Horse Cents in Versailles, KY. Very nice quality leather, with brass hardware…ran about $65 each (english chin, single buckle crown, flat throatlatch). LOVE THEM!
Claudette of Country Carriages has the buckle nose in stock…very nice ones too.
