I have been using Platinum Performance Skin and Allergy on the pony who had nasty welts from bug bites our first spring together. I feed it year round, and it works very well. However, the pony does not relish the taste or texture or both, and I’m wondering if anyone has used another more palatable supplement effectively. SmartPak has one although it shares none of the PP product’s ingredients.
I decided to try Bug Check this year and I’m very happy with the results. I started feeding it back in April and seeing a noticeable difference in the number of flies landing on my horses. I still need to use fly spray but using much less than usual. One of my horses is very picky and he eats it with no fuss. It does have a strong garlic smell.
