Have any other Internet explorer 7 users found that the mouse wheel does not work to scroll up/down on the pages on this site? The wheel functions correctly on all the other sites I visit. I uninstalled IE7 just to test this theory, and was able to use the wheel again on the COTH board.
Never realized until now how dependent I’ve become on that #$@%! Mouse wheel. Especially when trying to navigate through a 30+page trainwreck. 
I don’t have that problem, but I have had a problem with the site crashing if I try to scroll down on a thread I have just opened using the arrow keys. If I hit page down or use the mouse it does not crash. I can use the arrow keys on the home page and the forum pages, and I can use the arrow keys if I have scrolled down on a thread by some other means (mouse or page down). I do have Internet Explorer, but I don’t know what version
Anyone have any thoughts?
I have IE 7 and don’t have any problems with using my mouse wheel to scroll up or down to view threads. I also haven’t had the problem with the site crashing using the up and down arrow keys or at least not yet.

But it’s weird that the problem is not on ALL websites. I looked at the mouse settings on the control panel, but the only option to change the wheel behavior is how many lines = one click of the wheel. Any ideas on what else I can check?
Are you using the forums with the frame ad banner at the top of the page? Could it have something to do with the way IE7 deals with frames? Perhaps a bug, seeing as the software is fairly new? That would explain why other websites seem to handle it okay.

I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!! We are twins!!! You are not alone, nor are you imagining things!!! 
I crash on a page by page basis unless I hit the mouse button before hitting the down arrow.
Just to compare:
I am using AOL 9.0 SE on a DELL laptop.
This is the only place anything like this happens.

As an aside, several days ago, my DEL key would only work sporadically. But it has been OK since then.
As another aside: I used to be able to save H/J, Off Course, SHB, etc as Favorites; each one had a separate URL. Now everything just shows up as www.chronicleforums.com/forum/ no matter where I am inside the site. Is that what is happening to everyone?
Start with the URL that Tom posted above, or else when you find a thread you wish to bookmark, right click on it and “Open in new window” instead of just clicking straight on it. The problem is because of the ad being in a frame, so your browser address bar never ‘sees’ the address of the pages loading in the bottom portion.
The crashing problem may be somewhat related… if the new page loads and the top frame (ie the ad) is selected/active by default, when you arrow down there is nowhere for that section of the page to go. By clicking with the mouse you are likely activating/selecting the bottom portion of the page where there is enough content to scroll.
I have this problem as well, both at home and at work. At home, I don’t have the banner ads, and at work I do. Both are running Internet Explorer. Has anyone come up with a solution (or even a reason)?

Problem is I have it at home on IE6 and at work on IE7. It started almost the same day so I think it must be some update that COTH made to their software because this is the only website I have problems with
