Bulk Magnesium B1 Supplement?

I feed a magnesium/B1 supplement to my gelding for muscle tightness. He does really well on DUMOR RELAXMOR (Magnesium 7,500mg, Thiamine 1,000mg, L-Tryptophan 500mg).

My issue is that Tractor Supply only sells it in 30 day supply buckets and I feel like I am forever running out and needing to buy more.

Are there any comparable supplements on the market sold in Bulk? I have used Quiessence in the past, but he seems to do better on a supplement that also contains a B vitamin.

Can you source the two separately?

Horsetech could probably custom mix that for you, in as much bulk as you wanted. Not sure how the cost would compare to what you’re currently doing, but might be worth an email to find out?

Horsetech does make one

Interesting! They offer the supplement in bulk, but it actually works out to exactly the same cost as Dumor. I might just be better off buying multiples at TSC.

Plain B1, and plain MgOx, are both pretty cheap. MVP Magnesium 5000, and whatever inexpensive container of B1, is where I’d look.

If he’s not a picky eater, then a big brown bag of magnsium oxide you can often get at feed mills (as opposed to feed stores like TSC) is REALLY cheap. You might have to ask them for the “cow mineral” as that seems to be what it’s mostly sold as.

There are also the likes of bulksupplements.com and others, human products, which are also probably pretty darn cheap

purebulk.com is the other one I was trying to think of.

I found this at amazon and it comes in larger sizes and a refill. Looks to have the same ingredients as your current.

Or maybe buy several bags at TSC at one time?

I used to supplement magnesium and recently stopped because I started my gelding on TC Gold Balancer and it has a good amount of magnesium in it. But I have a bag of unopened Uckele MagOx that I’ll use if I feel like he ever needs it again. I can’t remember what it cost, but it’s the powdered version and I think it’ll last me close to a year.

I started my guy on B1 a few months ago more for muscle relaxation and recovery (to see if it made any difference), and I think he’s been more chill and less reactive. I use the Horse Health brand (in the purple bucket with the race horse picture on the front). He only gets an ounce a day (500mg of B1). I get the smaller bucket because my storage space is limited, but they make a 20-lb. bucket that at 1 ounce would last 320 days. Less than $100 for that size.

I used to feed SmartCalm Ultra a few years ago, and it worked well too. 10g mag, I can’t remember how much B1, and some tryptophan as well. They have a 30-lb bag for around $270 that says it’s a 224-day supply.
