Bullying

I was wondering if someone would speak on this. Interesting

I think you can search the forums and find plenty. It’s been discussed at length.

It’s not just the bullying, it’s also the stolen content. Stuff she strips from YouTube and reskins and monetizes.

The topic- yes. This specific article- no. Lots in there, vidoeing juniors and posting it (FWIW- someone took a picture of my then 7 year old and her pony at a show an blasted it on her blog- not cool. It takes a real gem to cut up juniors).

This makes me want to give Robert Dover a hug. Thank you sir!

Absolutely disgusting behavior. Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me… such a very untrue statement when mob mentality goes viral. We all have things to learn and horses and humans are imperfect creatures. True abuse of an animal is one thing, but blasting someone for not riding to your liking (especially a kid, c’mon, leave the kids out of it) - like RD said - people like this are just search for a reason to get others amped up.

It’s a good article, and I’m really glad Dover was in there. I hope this has some impact on her and shuts her site down. She has harassed a lot of people in far more harmful ways than this writer even knows, including myself and quite a few COTHers.

This is the person who is STILL posting about how riders apply marshmallow foam to their horses lips. She is lacking credence, and we need to stop giving her an audience.

How does she get away with posting content that has a copyright like from the USEF Network? I reported her stealing content from the RD Horsemastership thing and got a reply that they were looking into it. But she has been stealing their content for years.

I’m glad to see COTH speaking out against her but sadly it will change nothing because she thrives on the attention. It doesn’t matter what people are saying about her - somehow in her mind, the fact that people talk about her makes her feel like she’s somehow important.

It should be sad, since she is clearly suffering from some mental disorder, but it’s hard to feel sorry for someone who wakes up every day wondering how to hurt and humiliate others.

Sadly, internet bullying isn’t new. There have been many mean and snarky blogs over the years. I don’t understand how Susan Whacky-Witch has gained such a huge following, but one thing we CAN do is not like her FB page and report it to FB for inappropriate commentary.

Someone i I know is circulating a petition to have her page taken down. I hope if FB keeps getting negative feedback, it will eventually pull her page. Please do NOT watch any of her videos on YouTube, because she gets $$$ when they are watched.

Cyber bullying is very real, as we all know… it even happens here on COTH. People should try to be more understanding and supportive of each other, instead of intent on tearing others down.

I’m struggling to think why one would do this, unless one wanted to make a “talking horse” video without CGI (like they did with Mr. Ed). I’m pretty sure if I tried it with my guy before riding him, he’d be so distracted trying to get every molecule of sugar ingested he would ignore any and all directives I were giving him. It’s bad enough if he manages to snatch a mouthful of grass before mounting.

It is helpful to call out this sort of behavior. If not for this forum I would not have known that “dressage hub” was a dubious thing. I have disregarded you tube videos bearing the name. I would not have known to do so if I hadn’t been warned here.

I might have watched several videos before coming across the nasty ones that would have put me off the “dressage hub” and thus unwittingly put money in the pocket of someone that is disreputable.

It is important to tread the line between bullying the bully and calling out con artists, yet I believe most people know where to draw that line.

To add, yes, she has some serious mental issues. She not only has some congenital issues, but probably TBI. So, that makes her really scary int hat she seems to have no moral or common sense.

Maybe with Facebook’s new rules about bullying, if enough people report her, they’ll actually ban her like they did that other psychopath who said Sandy Hook was a hoax.

I hadn’t realised that Bernhard Maier had committed suicide. A quick search on Facebook reveals that none of the major horse publications have reported this, that I can find. They were quick to report his actions, and share the video, but not the fallout which was his suicide.

Hear, hear to the idea that folks merely need to stop consuming the bullying crap people put out on the internet.

What surprises me, or worries me about his directive, is the incredible taste HERE ON COTH’s own dressage forum for trashing that miner trainer in New Jersey, Nick Peronace. Apparently, those producing mean content don’t have a reason to stop because there is an audience, and therefore, money in it.

Can any of you explain why the Nick Peronace threads here got so much airtime and why that’s different and superior to what the on-lookers at DressageHub are doing?

Not for nothing, but you can search my posts on those threads to find me asking for a Cease and Desist each time. I don’t get understand the taste for it.

This stopped me cold when I read it…just terrible. I think dressage hub is seriously mentally ill as well, she needs to be locked up somewhere and get cognitive therapy. Unfortunately we are powerless to have that done. Safe sport has no say here so maybe going after her through the courts would.

I agree 200%.

And to add something…
No I am not a fan of the Dressage Hub and for some reason I never ever got involved in any discussions about trashing riders. (I wonder why)
But I wonder right now whether bullying works both ways… suddenly I was approached by somebody about the dressage Hub, Now this article, Of course another thread about it…
Let’s hope she survives this without harm. For me it seems to be bullying as well. And this is bullying with force… A huge group of people against one person…

not my my cup of tea and the last thing I will write here in this thread

Good article. Bullies need to be called out. People need to be warned to avoid Dressage Hub.

I want to say thank you to COTH for posting this article. It is because of the article I found my courage again last night… I have posted the link to my FB post last night and for those who don’t have FB copied my post here as well.

In April 2017, I had one of my YouTube videos stolen by a certain individual who runs a certain FB page , it was edited and posted on that site as if I had submitted it for critique… I cannot really think of the words to express how this event made me feel or the effect it had on me… I immediately went and changed the status of that video to unlisted, but now I’m taking back my power.

For anyone who wishes to see the unedited video from February 2011, here is the link. My gelding was at the time a 14 yr old half Arab gelding who prior to me buying him was a mainly western trained pleasure gelding who I brought along in my Dressage journey with the assistance of many great coaches. I’m so thankful for this gelding and for all the coaches and all that I have learned on this journey… I am not a perfect rider but strive to do the best I can to improve and get better…
