Burghley 2025 - Accommodations

I’m going to Burghley this year and am looking for advice on accommodations. I was very interested in the Burghley Boutique glamping on site. However I can’t seem to book on their website or get anyone to contact me so I’m wondering if that is still a viable option. I am looking for backup options for lodging and advice transportation. I wasn’t originally planning on having a car if we stayed on site but might need a plan b. Any other tips and advice are welcome - I already am planning on getting VIP tickets in case of rain.

The town of Stamford is very walkable. If you can find accomodation in Stamford you may can walk to the venue. (I would try to stay in stamford if I did again, it was such a cute town) All walkable, cute restaurants. We did not rent a car. My mom and I stayed in Peterborough. In the mornings we used the Bolt app (like uber) to get to Burghley. Then in the afternoons we walked to the train station with many others and took the train back to Peterborough and took a taxi/or bolt for the few minute drive back to out hotel.

We flew into London then took train to Peterborough. It is very easy to navigate without a car. I would do the same route again.

We also did VIP tickets which were nice to have for the restroom access. We never ate our meals/coffee here, but ate at the other vendors. I do think the VIP comes with parking tags, we used this with our Uber to get right to the entrance.

The Burghley Box Office doesn’t open until April 22nd 2025 which might explain the silence. If you are seeking accommodation in Stamford, it books up fast so start immediately. Peterborough is a very easy train to Stamford and will have other hotels - but it isn’t a very touristy place.

Stamford is pretty small town so accommodations book up quickly. Many hotels in the UK are smaller so that’s one of the reasons they book up. Went I went we stayed in Peterborough at the Bull Hotel, which was quite nice. Great little bar/pub and really good restaurant. It had partking, we took a taxi to Burghley one day. I would definitely get the membership passes as it gives you a place to take cover in case of bad weather. The membership passes are quite reasonable IMO, unlike the thousands in the USA. Admission and parking are extra I believe but again, reasonably priced to encourage spectators - shopping is amazing
