I love how it’s all logs and brush! I don’t know about that oxer in the water though, not a good combo.

I really like that they have a young horse event at the same time as Burghley. What a great opportunity for the producers of those horses/breeders!

Well, Microsoft actually WORKED as opposed to my much-preferred Chrome! I always stress before the beginning of these biggies. They never come online until the last minute, and then, if I am still in incompetent mode, (most of the time…) I won’t be able to get in.
In real life, I am not a worrier but put me in front of a screen for a 5* I go bonkers…

I’m still going to poke you
By using “Microsoft” I think you are meaning that you used the “Internet Explorer” AKA 'the blue e" internet browser. Maybe think of Microsoft (the operating system on your machine) as the ‘frame of the car’ - while the internet browser you use is the “transmission that moves you around the internet”

Please know I’m gently joking- I flipped out last year when I couldn’t find a vitally important SEC football game on TV  turns out my ‘favorites’ channel list didn’t include that channel :lol::lol:

sigh, you are correct of course. Both of my computers are MS, and my browser of choice is google chrome. However, both have great annoyances that I do not know how to deal with. This morning, when I FINALLY found the live feed, I could NOT get the sound. I will tinker tonight and hopefully, everything will be Jake by tomorrow.

is there an order of go?

If you go to the burghley official website, down at the bottom of the page you will see a blue strip that says “Scores &Start Times”, “Live Video”, and “Lsten Live”. If you click on the scores and start times, it opens up a page with the current scores. At the top of the page next to the Burghley logo, you’ll see a little menu where you can select the dressage ride times.

OK, so what is the point of the ‘pairs’?

What pairs?

if you look at the page with the order of go, there is a list of pairs. They have had it before, I never hear the results of it. Loo at the drop-down, and it will say pairs. For example, Ollie is paired with someone who has already ridden and scored something in the high thirties.

ah - it’s an additional layer of competition:
Peden Bloodstock International Pairs Challenge is an additional competition held within the CCI4*. The top 15 highest ranked British Riders are paired, in reverse order, with the top 15 ‘Rest of the World’ riders. i.e. British Rider ranked 1st is paired with the ‘rest of the world’ rider ranked 15th. A total of £4,000 in prize money is available for pairings placed 1st – 3rd.

Loving the commentary, so far some good rides for our American riders.

But can someone please tell the eventers that you ONLY need to salute the Judge at C who is the head of the judging team when there are multiple judges? All this head bobble stuff to all the judges just looks quite silly!

How did Dom do? Nothing on website yet.

38.7, sitting in 25th. I believe his trot work went well and his canter was a bit tense

38.7 currently standing in 25th place

So far Doug is the top placed American with a 32.1 and tied for 7th. Will Coleman is close behind on a 32.4 for 9th.

I haven’t watched Burghley in several years. Has it become the norm to only have the number of rides in the 30s? I thought it used to be more?
ETA: I realize it is only half the dressage. For some reason I was thinking it used to be closer to 40 rides on dressage day.
