Burgundy scrim

Anyone know of a burgundy scrim sheet <$100? Dover has the most perfect one on sale (closeout) for $30 right now, but of COURSE it’s sold out in my size and they’re not getting any more in (I asked). Need an 84". They do have a matching stable sheet available, but I’m in Florida and would really prefer a scrim for ringside.
Would also be willing to settle for a gray one, as long it has black or red trim only (no navy, green, tan, etc.), but I’m obsessed with burgundy at the moment.

Smartpak has burgundy with black trim in the size you need for $50. Says the only have one in stock though. They look “bright” in the pics but I’ve seen them in person and they aren’t that I bright.

Thanks! Dare I try Smartpak after everyone’s fiascos lately…

I’ve ordered from them a couple of times since Christmas and not had issues.

Thanks, I’ll take a look at the thread and see what the ratio of good-to-bad is now since Xmas. I placed an order at the beginning of December and still hadn’t received a shipping notification a week after my ship date, so I cancelled it. In the same time frame, one of my boarder’s placed an order and got it in three days. It seems to have been hit or miss, but with more misses. If it’s gotten better, I’ll give it a whirl.

Smartpak orders since xmas have gone fine for me.

Scrims are pretty forgiving fit wise and usually just get used ringside at shows. I had one for close to a decade through 4 different Hunters that spanned a range of 4" in height and a couple hundred pounds. If one is cheap enough, the next size up should not create much of a fashion faux pas.

My scrim got borrowed all the time too at the shows, more then any other item I ever had. Including a season at WEF (while I froze at home) when it got put in somebody else’s trunk by mistake. Ended up the de facto walk to the ring and back barn scrim on everything but the Ponies.

Thanks, but not sure a 78" will work, which is the closest available size from Dover. She wears an 81-82" blanket, I was going for an 84" scrim to account for saddle space. Think 78" will be way too small?

Maybe, maybe not. Think mine was an 80, original horse wore a 78 blanket, other horses probably went up to 82 or even 4. Half the time it’s just thrown over the top of horse and tack and not really tightened around the belly. But not going to tell you that 78 will work her. If you really wanted to use it on a damp horse under a cooler instead of decorative accessory, it would be too small.

Have tried some of the lesser mentioned sites like Schneider’s or searched to see who else carries them?

Thanks @findeight ! Yeah, I’ve tried Schneider’s and a few others, and about a billion general Google searches; haven’t been able to find burgundy. Just the normal navy, hunter green, black, etc. The Dover one in my first post is Dover brand. :frowning:

OOh I just found a possibility on Horselovers searching Anti-Sweat sheet instead of scrim. I know anti-sweats are thicker than true scrims, but I may give it a whirl since it’s pretty cheap. Thanks for your help everyone!
