Business As Usual

From following NV on facebook, it seems like they’ve had more horses than that in their PA program…

Anna has posted on Chronicle before, perhaps she could share some numbers or insight on how the program is working from their end.

Thanks for the info.

LTH, I PMd anna and she sent the following numbers:

64 horses have been entered into the program 39 have already been adopted and are in new homes and 6 are still in our care but have been adopted and are awaiting pick up

For a program of this type I think that’s a very good record. There might be more money in the coffers than what’s been used, but it’s best to always have extra (some horses may not be rehomed as quickly as others, there are employees to pay and facilities to pay for, etc. And it’s always a bad move to overfill a program just because there’s money - intake must be balanced with the space in the facility, plus the number of people you have and how much they can realistically manage)

I am happy to hear the program is progressing. As I said the only update I could find was for 12 horses and that was from January. You are right about having the extra money, living too close to the the fund edge with horses is not a good idea. Thank you for theupdate and I am happy the horses are moving on to a new and hopefully happy life.

Can anybody name which trainer(s) these horses came from?

You’d probably have to send an inquiry.

There’s 4 PA horses on the site right now, though, and they came from Harry Dimitriou, Brandon Kulp, and Flint Stites. The fourth I couldn’t find, probably spelling it wrong…

Latest (rather disappointing) Penn grand jury news

Results of inquiry at Penn regarding Delahoussaye, Adamo, Beattie, etc.:

Maybe it is better than nothing at all. Sometimes a little actually does go a long way.

Where is everybody? Is there any new word on the situations at Penn?

Somebody for some reason thought it necessary to start a new thread. I guess just to be redundant. Anyway, I’d say the fact that the FBI is getting involved is pretty encouraging:cool:

It’s amazing what one little letter wrote about numerous fraudulent coggins papers way back in May 2009, can lead too. Sadly, everyone but that particular Gill trainer is in trouble.

Some updates about a few of our favorite colorful characters:

Sources tell me that Tony Adamo is now a jocks agent. He transferred all his horses to somebody else for now. Interesting move for a guy who just claimed a bunch from Philly with intentions of running them in PA this winter.

Michael Caraman has moved his string from Colonial up to Boston.

Darrel Dellahoussaye was seen at a Grantville area farm recently inquiring about stalls.

Perhaps something to gloat about, for those who read the Paulick and Patriot articles it seems S Beattie verified things that were said on this thread earlier on which led to many bannings, deletia and overall having a cow by the COTH mods:lol:

Does anyone know how the new pre race vet checks will work. Are they to be done on race day or a day or two ahead? I hope they will stick with it as it seems to me a large undertaking, but a very good thing. I’m for anything that will improve our racing at Penn and help keep the horse and jockeys safer. I hope that Penn will continue to move forward in a positive manner, even if it’s small steps.
Can we keep this thread alive? I sure miss following it and learning from it.

Not sure what they have planned but anything will be an improvement over showing up with a pulse as they’ve been doing. Maybe they should take some lessons from Colonial on how to properly do things:rolleyes:

I’m still waiting to hear back from some folks in Boston where the ace team of Budrewicz and Longo are burning up the track. Hope to have some news in a few days.

How about that no trainer test taken Harry Hepron?

That’s a bit of an annoyance with many folks as well. Problem is a few states (I’ll not mention which ones right now) have no trainers test. Many folks who are too stupid or inept to pass the test in their home state go to one of the non-testing places to get licensed. Hepbron wasn’t the first to do so. However, if this happened in Pennsylvania it would be one more embarrassment for the commission that should be investigated immediately and folks called on the carpet for it.

The Jockey Club is presently looking into this problem as part of the work being done by the Race Horse Safety program. Their recommendations may or may not correct this problem but is IMO another argument in favor of a National Governing Body of Racing.

I think what it was, he lied on his app. He went from zero industry experience/participation to van driver for Gill to trainer 6 months later. He was clueless. Infact, one night in the paddock he had no idea on how to apply a tongue tie and had to get the young boy hotwalker to do it. But he sure knew how to give a milkshake in the recieving barn. At least they taught him that before sending him over from Elk Creek.

I’d heard that as well:lol:
By the way, glad you brought up Elk Creek. I understand Adamo’s assistant is living in there and horses will be moving in soon if they haven’t started to already. Perhaps some of our friends from these boards who keep an eye on that place might check it out?

Any idea who Adamo’s assistant is? You can send me a message at my other user account (Equine Avenger) if you dont want to post name here.
