Business As Usual

I’m currently renting my farm and only go there about once or twice a month so I haven’t gone near ECR but you’ve just given me motivation to do so.

Any idea who Adamo’s assistant is? You can send me a message at my other user account (Equine Avenger) if you dont want to post name here.
You have a PM DaHoss.

Anybody see how Caraman’s string he brought to Boston is now for the most part listing him as owner? In Florida and Virginia all those horses had various owners. Now they’re all his? WTF?

Owners pretty much have a great racket in this so-called sport. It’s extremely difficult oftentimes to find out who really owns a horse.

On the issue of paper trainers on the other hand something certainly can and should be done about it.

I call on all people in high places, politicians, law enforcement, commision personnel, all of which I know watch this board to take a look at what’s been going on this year in the Tennessee Walking Horse industry.

Folks who have been ruled off and banned from shows as well as their paper trainers have been arrested and charged with money laundering. They’ve (USDA and Gov’t) been talking about cleaning up the deplorable things that happen at those shows since the 1970’s. These developments are the first positive steps taken and are having some positive effects finally.

Can ambitious young prosecutors looking to make their bones out there turn their attention to the TB industry? Hidden ownerships and paper training are more out of control than ever. If it can work with TWH’s it can sure work with TB and SB racing.:wink:

Somebody leaves Kentucky because they"re mad about a vet doing their job? Is easy to see why Penn would be at the top of their list for a destination:yes: Never need to worry about that at Penn!

Oh but wait, haven’t they heard? Penn announced they were going to start doing real vet checks next month too:eek:

By how fast this outfit ran there almost like a thief in the night one can only wonder how many unpaid folks they left back in KY?

How about that no trainer test taken Harry Hepron?
Anybody care to guess how many blacksmiths have been licensed in that place with no test as required by state law?:frowning:

This isnt the first time this type of incident has happened. Mike Papadda had a horse in a simlar situation >>>theres more to the story.
The Pres. of the HPBA has really let the horsemen down with this issue – its been on her table a while now (through her entire term so far), and obviously ignored!

I can not put into words what I think of this situation. I find it truly hard to believe that no vets are available during training hours for our equine athletes. We have no sport without them, so shouldn’t they have someone there in case of any injury much less one of these tragedies. I find it horrifying to think of these wonderful animals suffering for lenghthy periods just waiting for relief.
I guess the Pres. has more pressing issues at hand right now.

ROTFLMFAO!
It hasn’t even been an entire week and security has had to deal with that barn twice already!

Another embarrassment:yes: Just what in the world was the front office thinking? Did they really think anything good could have come from inviting these clowns in there:uhoh:

Sunday Morning at PN

The track was covered by Dr. Kate Papp for this mornings training hours. She Volunteered.!

The vets, all on their own, have offered to work something out with rotational coverage between themselves – no mention of demanding any money either. They were presented a problem and solved it.

I, personally, was disheartened to read such terrible things being said of the PN vets. I also realized that those words were being spoken by those who-just-dont-know. Each one of those vets has done amazing work on the backside and farms, and its shameful how quick folks are to point fingers of blame – that simply shows their ignorance.

That solved> next issue!
Oh yes, theres still the unanswered question: Where is Contrary?

Kudos to all the Vets who are giving a Sunday every week to insure coverage in case of an emergancey

Wonderful of the vets to do this, but seriously, should this not have been the responsibility of management to make sure the inicident with the filly had not ever happened in the first place? It seems to me that in this type of athletic endeavor involving horses that a vet in attendence would be at the top of the list in the first place.

This is great news, but actually there are a couple unscrupulous vets there. I wont name names, but do you really believe for a second that there are some unethical trainers based there, but not vets?

Not even for a nano-second, but thats another ( of many to choose from) Business As Usual discussion!

I say, as long as the vets are there as they say they will be, in case of an emergency, thank you. I think it should be a management issue, but as long as the vets are there to help, that’s what matters and maybe just maybe management is listening, maybe, and things will begin to improve for the horses and horsemen who really care about the horses and the sport. Sorry if I rambled on that.

Duh…It’s Penn!!!

“I will ruin you. All of you!!” ~ Nucky Thompson (Boardwalk Empire)

Who does this sound like? lol

http://www.equibase.com/premium/eqbHorseInfo.cfm?refno=8305924&registry=T Why is this horse allowed to run at Penn? Claimed at Delaware Park on 8/20/11. DP rules state that no claimed horse shall run in another jurisdiction for 60 days or the end of the meet whichever comes first.

My guess would be that the race at DP didnt go and Reyes asked for permission to run out of town.

vet coverage at PN

As of this morning, security is verbally notifying each incoming backsider which vet is covering the training track.

Kudo's to these vets for swiftly solving this dilemma.
