I would figure that you are correct. His livelyhood depends on sending horses to slaughter without getting caught, so I’m sure he’s got the “best of the best” working for him…

Lets not lose sight of the fact that sending horses to slaughter is still very much legal in this country. I want to hang the bastard as much as anyone else but proving he was a party to a legal endeavor doesn’t help anyone. However, you find one single horse that he sold in the state of PA that had a known fracture, meaning he had to order the xrays and have been told of the results and we got him.

I totally understand it’s illegal. I’m interested from the angle of wanting to find the horses who are waiting to go to Canada - the ones who are so broken they can’t be fixed. I would think if someone could find them, there would be a much better and bigger case against him.

I wish I knew someone in PA who had been screwed by him, but I’m beginning to think he doesn’t really x-ray anything, and if he does, if it’s broken it would probably go on the truck instead of to a private home… unfortunately he seems pretty good at covering his tracks.

In connection with this Gill fella, I read a note about Sam Elliot, VP of racing in Suffolk Downs how he supports ‘Zero Tolerance’ for his track - all while applauding Gill’s intentions of bringing his show there.

APPARENTLY Gill recently sold 20 horses for $1.00
Coincidentally, there was a load of thoroughbreds that shipped to Quebec, Canada to a slaughter house.
They are willing to cooperate but only have until tomorrow morning until the horses are slaughtered.
The problem is that they will not reveal the horse’s or the tattoo numbers but if a name or tattoo number is given to them, they will look amongst the group of horses to see if that horse is there.
Does anyone have any names of horses that may have been recently sold that we can give them to see if they came from the Gill farm?

Who gives a crap about frowned upon, when you have come this far you go for the jugular. All it takes is one charge and he is ruled off of every track in the country while the case is investigated and tried.

Someone needs to give Judybigredpony a shout. She had a whole list of horses that he was “giving away” away who were crippled. Perhaps she knows of ones who were sold with broken bones.

As I’ve mentioned, I do have one of his that has been successfully rehomed. He is actually a very nice horse, with nothing more than a slight, old bow. Like I have said, when I got him there were a few at the same rescue from this guy. I seem to remember possibly something about him getting out of racing at some point for a while, and I am not sure if my adoption coincides.

‘Cowboy’ the person who commented on the Paulick report about the slaughter house said they will take names or tattoos… so… they’ve got a good sized list to sort through. It’ll be interesting to see what happens, if anything.

That would be a first that the s/h would help in trying to ID horses. Everything is usually pretty hush hush.
