Business As Usual

If truth be known Darrel and Stephanie are probably sitting over at uncle Otto’s both sobbing uncontrollably and consoling each other. i’m sure they’re both very sorry for their actions. i know in my heart that they have learned from their mistakes and will be much better people in the future.

I do have a question to anyone here that can answer this. We all know that the hard working Todd Mostoller on the day Stephanie had her little meeting with all the stuffed shirts was seen running around moving faster than a ducks a**. you know, anything to protect the “golden girl” and to prove her innocence. that is all fine, but did he do the same for Mike Pappada when he unjustly had a few stalls taken over a letter that got leaked to Ray Paulick. to my knowledge, I don’t think so. but then again his name is Pappada, not Beattie!

What about her missing horse in January, 2010. Is someone being less than candid about the fate of that horse? If so, who?

Bopper, please don’t include Mostoller in the equation with Steph and the other respected horsemen. Even people in my circle are wary and have some trust issues with him. You see, Todd generally is interested in making moves and decisions that serve his own interests. I will politely refer to him by the term of sellout because he is well known to dive at the first dollar that falls to the sidewalk and forcefully support its issue. While most of the Penn elite deeply respect his work ethic and political clout there has silently been some significant movement to consider and groom a more trustworthy replacement

John, i couldn’t agree with you more!! Todd is for Todd, period!

You talk a decent game

You talk as someone with a horse in this race so I’ll bridle up for ya.

  1. If your a trainer can you HONESTLY tell me where every horse you have trained is right now(states will work) for lets say the past 6 months? I’ll take a yes or no just to go easy on you.
  2. If you’re an owner do you require a bill of sale for every horse that comes or goes out of your stable? How long do you keep those records?
  3. If you’re the book keeper for Steph can you come up with the answers for the questions above? Having recently bought a horse off the track I had a bill of sale and since I dealt only with the trainer I mailed the bill of sale to the owner on the papers.

For the trainers and owners there are plenty of software programs out there that will let you track damn near everything to do with said horse. I can’t imagine why on earth you don’t use them. If you do use them then you can print me out a couple of reports that tell me your horses are alive and fine. Not sure why the tracks don’t ask for these honestly. Having worked on the backside for a couple of trainers I know there are records kept so why are they so damn secret? Horses are a commodity and a taxable income so you would think for IRS purposes you would be able to actually account for your assets at the end of the year. I don’t buy the I don’t know routine.

Todd has been the butt of many a backside joke. When you have trained for years like a good number of us back there, you can start to smell a load of bull from miles away. Todd has always seemed like a halfway decent guy. But most people know that he’s only about half as intelligent as he plays himself off to be. When confronted by a well spoken trainer he either quickly retreats to his office or develops a kind of speech impediment that is normally reserved for the tavern lush.

John Sunwack, I can only assume that you have some serious vested interest in Steph Beattie 's business. I call out your entire defense as a motive of bias. It’s hard to accept a character witness that benefits from clearing the name of someone that they are attempting to defend. Even you must accept the fact that Steph cannot account for missing horses and has evaded responsibility

Steph Beattie and Don Brown come clean

Where,s Contrary? *ll the phoney talk. Where,s the horse. DEAD like many of Stephanie’s. EPOed burnouts. Lord knows we can,t let some little girl get ahold of a drug abused equine. TOdd M .you ran a good coverup, question…does Steph call you bitch?

This mess was AFTER you edited for spelling?!? You even misspelled your own name! Sorry, that just struck me as funny, back to your regularly scheduled bitch fest.

Laurie, if u’d have a clue I’d care

My spelling is bad given, but genius u missed the biggest gaff! - can’t stand your posts, for a person who went through Penns last scandel your an idiot. YOUR BIG BUDDY JOCKEY PENA was the biggest of bums so tell me what credibility do u have? Was he good? YOu truely are an idiot

big booper, if it was a little trainer they didnt like, he’d be escorted to the gate (out) already. Yes, unfair what they did to Mike — now, they are doing EVERY thing they can to protect SB in her lies… caught red handed.
BTW Johnnie… Contrary isnt accounted for Jan 2010.
several in 2009 …

SB’s past history shows consistant behavior not in the favor of horses welfare. There might not have been policy at that time, but there were rescues, trf, turning for home, dozens…
that SB could have secured safe haven for her horses — but
she chose slaughter.

She did it to herself… no one did anything to her…except tolerate her bad behavior for a long time. Her actions lend the thought that SB believes she’s above the law –

lol that was so mean

But that’s what happens when ur perfect! Laurie, I knew u when u were single! Opps my mistake you were married. Thought you were a single gal on the track. Hmmmmmmm. Oh yea sorry if my spelling hurt u

Laurie, watch out. This guy might be an orc.

Penn National No Slaughter Policy

Penn National did have a no slaughter policy in 2008 and it was printed on the bottom of the overnights. They just didn’t publicize it like the most recent policy that has more teeth.

Our friend is a trainer at Penn National and has been for many years and he saw the no slaughter policy in 2008 on the overnights. As for Ms. Beattie, if she is on the up and up concerning what she does with her horses when they can no longer race then it should not be that difficult for her to substantiate where her past horses are. What was she doing with them? Who was she giving them to or retiring them with? Why has she not produced names and locations? Where is the horse Contrary? Why did Major Mecke race at Penn National on a Saturday night in 2008 and end up in the kill pen at New Holland on the following Monday morning? Why have these questions not been answered by Ms. Beattie herself?

Our trainer friend placed a horse through the RACE Fund program at Penn National and he had to sign paperwork and he received updated pictures of his horse and when it was adopted.

How come Ms. Beattie has not produced any paperwork or locations of where her past horses are? It is a simple question.

Where is Dick Hertz?

Racetrack Jack,

Maybe Dick Hertz knows who needs to be asking those questions of SB. Obviously, Todd M isnt. The board isnt, the commission isnt, McErlean isnt......
Who is the person enforcing the no-slaughter policy?

But, if it were some other trainer... that above mentioned group would be the lynch mob with rope ready..... stewards each holding the match, commission piling on the wood... and there would be a burning at the stake..... complete annihilation!

Dick Hertz pointed out before and many times that there is dual treatment of the backside horsemen -- this is

the prime example.

Aside from the mixings of personal/business........
Policy is Policy.
