It’s on ! It’s going to be a long time before people can sleep peacefully at night. Probably not till March-April of next year ! Fine with me. I hope there a few ulcers along the way for certain people.

On a side note, I still am aghast that Stephanie Beattie is still in charge of setting up the Penn Retirement program. Is there not at least a couple members of the HBPA who feel that is a severe conflict of interest? Or is this all part of the good PR plan they have for her? The Sandee Beattie I read about when the nomination write ups were sent out would be taking a stand right now, but instead she’s realize that, well, she is a Beattie and has to live up to that name.

Judy, I may need a translator to read your most recent post. Person persons personal person? To call into play another poster, WHA WHA WHAT? Do a little proof reading, please. And for the record the correct spelling is hygiene. And now back to our regularly scheduled program. This is the part of our show where all of you saintly crusaders fail to prove again that Steph has sent but one horse to slaughter in the last year . But don’t worry, if you miss the show, you can catch the same old pointless replay every day

“I’m glad the horse was claimed. It was a two for the price of one sale.”

These were the words uttered on Saturday night by the ever lovable Donny Brown as he stood on the rail watching his lame, claimed horse come back “Formal Exchange”.

What A SHAME!!. 18 starts for 94,222/on 7 wins.. he should be hugging this horse! Nice piece of change to fill the kitty in 18 months! Looks like the horse ran each month, some a bit close.. but to publically shame his own horse.
Crumley, Im sure tended to him well that night and each day thereafter.

REALLY!!!

Just so happens I know the killer buyer that picks up all of Steph’s broken horses. And no you won’t find them in any killer sale pens as she has learned her lesson on that front. They get the red eye straight to the feed lot courtesy of a very expierenced killer buyer. Oh and did I mention that he is barred from entering the grounds at many Mid-Atlantic tracks. Stepanie and he have rendezvous on the farm. Once she had to many for his trailer so she sent her trailer to follow his with remaining horses.
I know this to be fact.

just a comment

heard about your inane comments, Mr. Sunnyboy I’m laughing and on the floor in stitches. I’m a chemist and your a jock agent and you say I’m a failure in life??? And I love my horses is very true, but you are why I don’t like too many people.

thx
Mr. Sunwack, this morning, in a post you wrote that was removed before most people saw it, you responded to an owner (Vandian) by calling him a “miserable failure in life” and inferred he needed psychiatric “help” because he said he cares about his horses and gives them a proper retirement. You expressed your philosophy toward horse welfare in that post, and now you expect accolades because a donation was made out of fear and Boots Are Walkin on you?
for exposing a hypocrite when you find one. these guys make money off the horses blood, sweat and tears and have no feelings whatsoever for them, yeah your darn right I’m nuts let me get on his back and ride hell outta him on sore legs I’ll go to the stick for sure I’ll plug him in with 220volts

INANE

Polite debate

I know Ive addressed the issue of polite debate a few times before. However, more than glad to address it again and remind folks…especially vandian and you, john sunwack – that this is an open forum of debate, a place to exchange ideas, and state facts as they are known.

Personal attacks have no place here..... and take away from the discussions meant to produce good results, and hopefully solutions to the problems that plague Penn National horses and horsemen.

I know that Ive also itemized the huge list of concerns; and will compile that list again ... if nothing else so that no issue get buried and forgotton.

Most of all, there IS an anti-slaughter policy written and presented to the HBPA detailing the guidelines for adherence and consequence for not conforming. There is a concensus that it reads applicable to ALL horsemen holding license at Penn National.

It was not a deliberate action to single out one particular person ... just so happens that those horses found in killer pens and rescued were traced to a certain trainer.
--- the question is.....why has management not taken appropriate action? That needs to be addressed.

There is still the issue of horse safety during day training hours..... a vet, a horse ambulance.
Stall allocation? methods, and who does/doesnt get assigned? and why?

Maybe if each of us picks up the ball and adds as they know of an issue -- to make a complete list of current *problems* ..

… we here can work clearly on ideas for each ones solutions.

I still stand that NO horse from Penn National should ever be unaccounted for (bill of sale)... and NO horse should EVER be found in a kill pen, a kill buyers barn, or on a truck headed over any border for slaughter. There was a race fund as of 2004.
And those folks who have(as policy was in force back in 2008)and still send.......should face the consequences of the Penn National policy regardless.

ps: anyone know? or can find a verified first-enacted date for the policy?
Suffolk enforces theirs; swiftly and clearly.

I only wish.

Just wanted to know the actual date of the retirement and donation. I wasn’t questioning that it happened.

And as for DickHertz or anyone else “flipflopping”, I think it has been repeated by him many times (and if you read this board across more than one thread you’ll realize it’s common practice) that an apology and/or correction gets posted when the original poster receives more information that changes what they know. More info often does mean better info, and we all try to learn more and correct what we’ve said when possible.

Only wish politicians operated like that.

OK, Mr/Ms Whack…now, we have an admission that Steph SENT a horse to slaughter. Not that the horse just happened to wind up in a bad place- sent indicates that she was aware, and purposeful. Is this where the dam breaks? I asked you some posts ago to account for where the thousands of horses that she has had her hands on have wound up…and the silence from you, on this topic, is deafening.

You say she is sainted? Innocent? A stalwart citizen being horrifically defamed?

Let’s try a new thing. Proof. You want it from those who do anything other than sing her praises…how 'bout that whole quid pro quo thing?

“poor woman” ? Are you serious? What she must do is account for all the missing horses that others have proven she sent to slaughter one way or the other. Sent to slaughter directly or indirectly.

Yes, she may want to donate her life savings to make amends for her vile treatment of horses under her care.

I agree with ASB Stars that YOU need to prove this “poor woman” is all the great and wonderful things you say she is.

As we’ve JUST posted another reminder on this thread re: personal insults and MULTIPLE posters are again disregarding that rule, we’re closing this thread. We are not going to devote constant moderation resources to tending to a discussion where some participants on both “sides” refuse to respect and adhere to the policies of the site.

If there is a significant change in status re: the various issues being addressed in this thread–charges filed, a major change in policy at the track, staffing change, etc., we might consider reopening the discussion. Please contact me directly if that’s the case.

After further review and addressing some immediate issues with some posters, we’re going to reopen this thread with the following caution:

THERE WILL BE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON THIS THREAD.

We typically utilize an escalating scale of disciplinary action related to posting infractions, but due to the history on this thread and the host of new users it’s attracting, our standard operating procedures are being amended for this thread.

Personally insulting another user or someone who is the subject of this thread will not be tolerated. Discussing a public figure or official’s performance is fine, as long as it’s done without name-calling or personal commentary and any accusations made should have some form of substantiated basis in fact.

If you’re accusing someone specific of something, “I heard such and such” doesn’t cut it. Keep the commentary productive and respectful, even if you don’t agree with each other or the people or policies you’re discussing.

If a user, old or new, violates these rules, we may ban them immediately, no questions asked, so post mindfully.

And if this tactic doesn’t work, we really will close this thread for good.

Thanks,
Mod 1

THANK YOU MOD 1!!!

thank you for the horses!

Thanks Mod.

really appreciate your re-opening the thread

Thanks to all the rudeness and name calling, we have lost one of our most informed posters— Dick Hertz has been banned from the forum— so thanks (NOT) to those of you who were unable to discuss this subject in an adult and professional manner!!!

I for one am extremely dissappointed in the lack of maturity some have shown on this forum-- I mean, how are we supposed to help if some are not playing by the rules?? I may or may not agree with a poster, but it is NOT necessary to be rude, crude and socially unaccepatble!!!

Wonder if Sunwack was banned. He was by far THE most insulting in his posts.
