Business As Usual

Business as usual without Dick Hertz? Its like the bulls without Jordan, the pats without Brady, like Steph Beattie without David Wells. It just is not able to get the job done. Moderator, you must consider allowing Dick to come back to the thread that he built. He was informative, truthful and generally much more respectful than a portion of the regular posters. Give this thread the credibility that it deserves. Free Dick Hertz!!!

And by the way, what’s up with Sunwack and the dead silence. I guess he realized that those that he represented were out of answers. Did anybody get word on those Donald Brown horses that have gone missing? They all seem to love the financial gain of the business but sure seem to be avoiding the subject of missing horses. As an owner I’m sure Steph clued him in to a game plan for his horses retirement. I’m ever so curious to hear the truth about who knew what about the missing horses. Got a feeling its coming out soon

DH rude? I never saw anything like that… There were some that definitely should be banned
though, but I am not a mod…

No, it appears that John Sunwack was also banned. But I agree that Dick was a moving force and that losing his voice is like losing the battle. I appreciated his passion for the horses and intelligent posting.

Free Dick Hertz!

Can’t wait to hear about the whereabouts of these horses.
I can’t get this list out of my head. Has anyone had any luck in tracking these horses down? Not that I think John Sunwack is very reliable but he did guarantee that Stephanie/her owners would provide the whereabouts of any missing horses. I think we should at least try to give them the benefit of the doubt. Has anyone attempted to contact the connections regarding these horses? Maybe someone could send the HBPA an email or take it up at the next HBPA meeting. I hope for the best, I actually remember and was fond of a few horses on the list

Agenda: Pension, TCO2 Testing, Horse Adoption

Yes, I bet horse adoption is on this list… there is surely to be a scramble on what to do with (all) horses… SB is NOT the only offender in sending horses to the kill pens, thekill buyers barns… Id say on a conservative note… 20% of the backside on a regular basis disposes of horses in this manner.
To back this up, assistance would be needed from the rescues to look through their records on Tatoo’d tbs saved from the kill pens over the last couple years …
Im sure those records exist somewhere.
The few found and documented were located only by accident simply by a keyword that brought up the resultant search page… can one imagine IF real records were produced?

There is more informaton concering policy on (Milkshaking) …testing for TOC@

Theres one thing this agenda forgot... the safety and welfare of horses during day training hours.. a vet? a person who can drive an ambulance...? please?
Maybe there is a suggestion box to keep the list of necessary issues forefront for the Pres.?

Horse adoption on the agenda. Could this be any more perfect. This could be the most interesting horsemens meeting of all time. This situation does not sit well with more people than you think. I will be marking my calendar for that date

What I think will be an interesting turn is …
when someone is (caught) in violation of the anti-slaughter policy … how quickly it will be pointed out that SB has been the biggest offender and the blind eye is turned for her… (fact)

you know that senario will unfold..
The meeting better address horse placement ...and accountability; plus the safeguards to prevent the pipeline from continued operation.

I firmly believe that Penn National, if it chooses to take no action pertaining to recent events, can never make a positive move in enforcing it’s slaughter policy ever again. If they attempt to "throw the book at someone " and take their stalls, they are setting themselves up for a gigantic lawsuit. And we all know how much they love a well placed lawsuit. Use your firmly presented evidence and take action Penn National or just remove this anti slaughter policy and all of the ridiculous grandstanding that comes with it

Two of Don Brown’s horses were sent to New Vocations recently along with money for them— don’t know which two, but I heard this from a very reliable source.

I’m very glad to hear that pink diamond. I’m proud to say that I have no skeletons in my closet when it comes to finding homes for our retired warriors. Maybe the postings have forced his hand a little bit to start being a little more accountable. I just wish you could tell me that those two included some from the list of horses in question on this site. To date we still don’t know their status but they too deserve the same well earned fate as those that you describe. The real interesting part will come if the missing horses are not accounted for. Will Beattie point the finger of responsibility at Brown or will Brown swiftly protect himself and distance himself from her as a sign of disapproval

Horse Racing

He should be accountable, as I seen you guys were saying about him. I guess I heard about that two horses, Im not sure if that horse are one of his coolest horses,

FREE DICK HERTZ

Thank you mod 1 for reopening this thread. I have been silently following this thread from the beggining. I do find it hypocrytical that DickHertz has been banned. His information seemed to be factual and to the point.

PLEASE FREE DICK HERTZ

This thread needs to continue to make improvements at Penn National.

I firmly believe that Penn National, if it chooses to take no action pertaining to recent events, can never make a positive move in enforcing it’s slaughter policy ever again.
True enough, however is important to remember there is no law against sending horses to killers, only a racetrack policy. Thus, is really up to them if they decide to be good to their word on it.

As to this whole business of taking stalls that brings to mind the way they’re allocated.

If there is anybody out there that has paid for stalls or know of someone who has please PM me.

Also agreed. The ripple effect of Dick Hertz has been very far reaching. Much more so than folks will ever know:winkgrin:

Wonder if Sunwack was banned. He was by far THE most insulting in his posts.
that was the only reasson I got a little nasty I could’t take it anymore.

see i can’t even spell or type lol

SO we’ve got about 11 days to work through the lists with the kill pen pullers and see if we can get a composite list of names, last race, & pics if possible for that meeting. I’ll contact the kill pen rescues and offer any assistance they need in finding those records. I will need someone to pm or email me a list or link to the horses names we think might have been either sent to the pens or not sure where they are. I will start with the list already done and see what I can find out. I will also need someone to PM ME ONLY who is attending this meeting so I can shoot all the info to them. Any chance a rep from Canter or Vocations can go to that meeting and put a face to the rescues? I don’t want to turn the meeting into a drama match but I do want to present a well thought out plan and voice the issues and concerns we have.

Nother thought, anyone willing to do this at their local tracks? Just get the rescues to introduce themselves at these types of meetings and pass out business cards if you have them. (I will happily print some out if you need em folks just pm me.) Time to look at this as a business transaction and not the emotional roller coaster it is.
